Like an announcer at a sports event, US President Bush has declared the winner of the recent bloody conflict that took place between Israeli Aggression Forces and the Resistance Fighters of Hezbollah to be Israel.[i] This is typical of the “War President” who thinks in terms of win or loose, black or white, good or evil, right or wrong, with us or with the enemy. Only a detached, insensitive individual, who has no regard for the human lives lost and destruction caused by the chaos of war, could frame this disaster in terms of winners and losers. Another day in the New Middle East, and would-be Imperial Dictator Bush is in his summer palace in Crawford, Texas, enjoying a 10+ day vacation. Meanwhile, in other parts of the world such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Lebanon, human beings are suffering and dying with the approval of the US Congress and tacit approval of the majority of Americans, as inferred by the lack of outcry.

Close to 400 people have been killed in Lebanon while the US Congress debates such pressing issues as stem cell research. The debate centers on the research use of fertilized eggs, that could be viewed as killing POTENTIAL HUMAN BEINGS, which most likely will be thrown out as medical waste. In Lebanon on the other hand, we are talking about ACTUAL HUMAN BEINGS, not potential ones, and the US Congress has given “Israel” a green light to destroy even more of them. I am aghast with outrage, not only at the actions of the US Congress, but also at those of the US President!
