Guide To Buying Ugg Boots
The most important thing you have to remember when shopping around for this footwear is this:
UGG boots
is not a brand name - it is the appellation given to the style of
boots. This goes pretty much in the direction of Flip-Flops and
Orthopedic Shoes. Lower quality or cheaply made boots can have the same
markings simply because they follow the same standard pattern for the
making of the boots. In other words, not because the pair you have on
right now has "UGG boots" stitched to its side means that it's
authentic or that it is made from quality material. This simply means
that you are wearing a pair of boots.
Needless to say, this kind
of footwear can be a bit pricey. So how can you buy an authentic pair
and know for certain that it is authentic? Here are some tips:
1.
Buy only from reputable dealers or authorized nationwide resellers.
This is fairly easy if you are doing your shopping at the mall or
individual shoe stores that carry the genuine products. Although most
people consider online shopping as a great convenience; this may not
always be the case when it comes to buying footwear. Since you are
allocating a lot of money to buy a pair of genuine
Cheap UGG boots,
you might want to try on a pair to see if they fit, or if they actually
look good on you. If you want the real deal, try buying only from the
stores that really advertised their products' authenticity.
2.
When you can't get to a mall or a store in your area to shop you can
always search online for a pair of UGG boots. You will just need to be
careful when shopping online. Do your research and make sure what the
store is offering is an authentic UGG boot. Not all websites offering
discount UGG boots are shams. Again, try to patronize online resellers
that can vouch for their products' authenticity. Major online stores
like Nordstrom usually do, so any product bearing the UGG logo must be
good. However, there are also some authentic, but lesser known
resellers in the World Wide Web. And these sites do make frequent
sales, especially when new models have just rolled in. So you can get a
pair of boots at discount prices - and still get the read deal. There
are even many eBay sellers that sell authentic UGG boots. You will just
need to check their feedback.
However, it should be noted that
there are also those online companies that sell cheap or imitation
boots that can be just as convincing as well. So it really pays to look
at the other products being offered in the websites you have visited.
Verifying authenticity can be tricky, but it can be done. Always check
a sites feedback if they offer it. Ask a seller if the boots are
authentic UGG boots before buying. If all is done with care you will be
ok to make an online purchase.

Top 5 Interesting Facts About Eyeglasses
We're back with the top list! Did you miss us? We missed you! We are
off to a great start in 2009. During our break I pondered something -
what funky facts are there out in the world about eyeglasses
and vision? I scoured the internet to see what I could find. After a
good week of researching, I came up with the five best interesting
facts about eyes, eyeglasses, and the like!
5: While the origin of
eyeglasses is relatively unknown and widely debated, reading glasses
first appeared on the scene in Italy around 1260 C.E. They were
initially designed to help the elderly in their quest for reading. The
reading glasses were insanely
popular very quickly but there was one drawback - arms had not been
invented for the prescriptio eyeglasses and the frames kept slipping
down the nose! The Spanish tried to remedy this by tying ribbons to the
frames and then wrapping them around their ears but the local folks
were not so keen on that idea.
4: The human eyeball weighs
approximately one ounce. Imagine all the work your eyes do: reading,
discovering, watching TV, refracting light, being pretty...etc. They do
all this work within one ounce. Amazing! The human body truly astounds
us!
3: Wear a gold earring or eyeglasses? Personally, I would choose
eyeglasses but sailors once believed that wearing a gold earring would
help to improve their eyesight. We here at GlassesUSA are a little
unsure of how a cold earring could possibly improve your eyesight or
what the correlation between the gold earring and the eyes are the
sailors must have had a reason!
2: Sunglasses came on the scene in
1929 when a young innovator, Sam Foster, convinced the Woolworth's
store on the Atlantic City Boardwalk to sell his new brand of
sunglasses - FosterGrant. They became an instant sensation in the
1930's when worn by the era's most popular movie stars! The American
culture has Sam Foster to thank for making something like eye
protection from UVA and UVB rays look so cool and hip!
It's hard to
pick one last fact that could possibly be more interesting than wearing
a gold earring to help your eyesight but here goes...
1: Thomas Jefferson had more eyeglasses than I do. During his presidency, Jefferson ordered eye glasses
from Philadelphia optician, John McAllister. This grew into a two year
union where Jefferson would instruct McAllister to fashion glasses for
him for any occasion. The process would take about two weeks to
manufacture each frame. On occasion, McAllister would send President
Jefferson a pair of frames that Jefferson was not too pleased about.
The result would be a written letter and a diagram of exactly what kind
of eyeglass frame the president would like - hand drawn by Thomas
Jefferson himself.
Now, go. Go and use this information at any trivia night you may come across.
