سعت للسمرة تحت أشعة الشمس فاحترق طفلها

تعرض طفل رضيع لحروقٍ شديدة خلال استلقاء أمه في الشمس للاستمتاع بدفئها واكتساب اللون البرونزي.

وذكرت صحيفة "الصن" البريطانية إن شهودا عيانا بعدما رأوا الطفل البالغ من العمر خمسة أشهر يصرخ بسبب تعرضه للحروق شديدة على شاطئ مدينة برايتون البريطانية الساحلية اتصلوا بالشرطة لإنقاذه.

وحضرت الشرطة فوراً ونقلت الطفل، الذي لم يذكر اسمه، ونقلوه إلى المستشفى للعلاج، حيث تبين أن الحروق الناتجة عن الشمس أصابت حوالي 40% من جسده.

وقالت فيكي غاردنر، 25 سنة، التي تقيم في المدينة "كان الرضيع شديد الاحمرار ويصرخ من شدة الألم"، مضيفة " كانت الأم تذرع الشاطئ ذهاباً وإياباً ولم يكن معها أي مقتنيات... ولاحظت ابتسامة ساخرة على وجهها".

وأضافت" طلب منها أحدهم حماية طفلها ولكنها لم تكترث لذلك وتابعت سيرها". وقد تواجه الأم وعمرها، 29 سنة، من جنوب شرق لندن تهمة إهمال طفلها.

The beaches of the world are in full swing as summer is here and suntans are dear. The beach is a place that denotes thoughts of fun, leisure, play, and relaxation. However, many of us forget and/or discount that the beach can also be a dangerous place, especially for young children.

I read a story today on BBC News that broke my heart. A five-month-old baby was on Brighton beach with his 29-year-old mother. The family was visiting Brighton England from the South coast of London on Sunday. It happened to be one of the hottest days of the year for Brighton

According to UK news reports, several beach goers became concerned about the five-month-old baby when they noticed he was naked, had no shade, was very red, and had noticeable blisters forming. The concerned beachgoers approached the mother and urged her to cover the baby up and find the baby some shade. She appeared to not understand what they were telling her. They pointed at the blisters on the baby’s leg and said “sunburn” over and over, but she still did not comprehend. One of the beachgoers decided to call the police. Paramedics brought the baby to Brighton’s Royal Sussex County Hospital, where he was treated for burns over 40% of his body
