A British woman has bled to death after cutting herself on glass in a freak accident in Spain.

42-year-old Sally Feelly reportedly lost her balance as she enjoyed a drink with friends and injured herself after falling on one of the glasses on the table.

She suffered a deep cut to the armpit.

Pals and onlookers tried to stem the blood with wet towels and hand wipes but she was already unconscious by the time an ambulance arrived.

She died in hospital an hour after the freak accident occurred at a terrace bar in the Costa del Sol resort of Nerja - where she is thought to have lived.

Ms Feelly is thought to have been separated from her husband with whom she had a 14-year-old son.

One of her friends was quoted as saying: 'We can't believe something like this has happened - she was a young healthy person who was full of life.

'She wasn't drunk when she fell.

'People who were there can't believe what happened. How is it possible that such a silly accident can have such devastating consequences. It's absolutely horrific.'

عقدت الدهشة ألسنة من شتهدوا الحادث العرضي،و هم غير مصدقين أن السيدة فريلي قد إنتقلت إلى رحمة الله.

The accident happened around 12.30am on Monday.

The victim was reportedly pronounced dead at a local hospital at 1.40am later that day.

وقع الحادث في الساعة 12 والنصف ظهرا،و في الواحدة و 40 دقيقة أعلن عن واتها رسميا في المستشفى المحلي.
