The rumours started when she mysteriously referred to
her baby as 'they'.

 

Now Mariah Carey has added to speculation that she
may be pregnant with twins, by refusing to deny the reports.

 

'I’m not telling anyone,' the singer said, in reply
to questioning on U.S.
TV show Extra.

Mariah, 40, also admitted to having cravings during
her pregnancy.

 

'My taste bud situation is unparalleled...' she said.
'I don't know what it is, but I'm just about fruit for some reason. It has to be
really good for me to like it.'

 

 

Mariah has also experienced other side effects: 'My
fingers obviously swelled a little bit. I can’t even get this ring off if I
tried.'

 

And she was honest about the tiring side of
pregnancy, saying she 'didn't feel' like doing a lot over
Thanksgiving.

 

 

 

But she did find the energy to do some cooking -
whipping up some mashed potato and corn.

 

'What I cooked was the best thing of the holiday. I'm
sorry but it was.'

 

She and husband Nick Cannon usually go to Aspen in
Colarado for Christmas - but not this year.

 

'I can't go there this year, because of the altitude
for me.'

 

But Mariah will still be going away. 'It's got to be
snowy,' she said.

 

'I was considering staying in LA because we love it,
but it's not the most seasonal of places. I need snow.'

تحضر المتسابقة  ربيكا فيرغسون لفوز
المراهقة شير -17 عاما- في مسابقة الإكس فاكتور ،وهي قلقة بشأن ذلك ،و تخشى أن يكون
تفضيل سيمون وبقية الحكام للمراهقة قد يحرمها من خوض سباق شريف للظفر  بجائزة
البرنامج.

طفلين وعمرها 24 عاما،وكل الحكام معجبون بصوتها وقال عنها سيمون بأنها تمتلك أفضل
صوت في المسابقة،إلا أنه وبخها بعض الشئ حين علق قائلا بأن جزء من أدائها لأغنية
كان متخشبا.وكال المديح ل شير ووصفها بأنها نشيج وحدها ولم ير مثيل لها من قبل في
الإكس فاكتور  .

She is a clear favourite to make
the X Factor finals - and has been praised for her ‘beautiful, distinctive
voice'.

 

But Rebecca Ferguson broke down in
tears following the results show on Sunday night - and told show producers she
feared the show is being geared up for Cher Lloyd to win.

 

The pressure of the ITV talent show
had clearly taken its toll on the mother-of-two after she gave a rather subdued
performance on Saturday that prompted Simon Cowell to say he could ‘see the
nerves'.

 

 

 

Miss Ferguson, 24, was then
pictured weeping as she left the studios in Wembley, North London, and was
comforted by ousted Katie Waissel.

 

A show source told the Daily Mail:
‘Rebecca was in absolute tears backstage, I’ve never seen a contestant so upset
before.

 

‘She really feels that Cher is
getting preferential treatment over her and that this is going to ruin her
chances of winning.

 

‘Rebecca’s put everything into this
competition and she’s finding it extremely stressful. It’s very hard for her to
see Cher get so much attention from their mentor Cheryl. She thinks the show is
being geared up for Cher.

 

‘And besides which, Rebecca was
very close to Katie and now that she has gone, she only has Cher left, and she
can be very hard and cold.’

The situation was only aggravated
after Miss Lloyd, 17, was given the plum spot of performing last on Saturday
night – which keeps the performance fresh in viewers minds before they vote.

 

Miss Ferguson performed her version
of U2’s I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For – only to be told by judge
Dannii Minogue that she wanted to see ‘more performance’ from her and not
‘always just standing in the middle.’ 

 

 

 

 

However, Miss Lloyd - who has
struggled with performance anxiety and panic attacks throughout the series - was
praised for her rendition of Walk This Way by Aerosmith.

Cowell said: ‘I think you’ve had a
fantastic night tonight, you’ve reminded us this is not a karaoke competion,’

anyone like you on The X Factor, and you’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but
you’re my cup of tea with two sugars in it.

 

‘That was dreamy and I believe in
you, that you have a future and a credible future as an artist after this
show.’

 

Miss Ferguson tried to shrug off
her tears by saying that she was simply missing her children, Lilly May, five,
and son Karl, four, who have been cared for by relatives at home in Liverpool
during the competition.

She wrote on Twitter: 'I was upset
leaving the studio tonight because I miss my kids.

 

She added: 'Gonna do my best Sat
just been reminded of why I'm here.'

 

Rebecca said during the audition
stages of the show that she wanted to give her son and daughter the best
possible life.

 

The semi-finalist had been awarded
plenty of visits with her children during the live shows.

 

But her participation has required
that she move from Liverpool to the finalists' house in North London.

being a yummy mummy when she went with Gwyneth, 38, to Highgate, North London,
on the school run last week.

Two thirds of British women are 'completely bored'
with their lives, a study has revealed.

 

A lack of variety amid a daily routine, a limited
social life and pressures at work are the main bones of contention for the
nation's females.

 

Not enough holidays and coming home every night to be
faced by a list of household chores to crack on with also leaves women feeling
fed up.

 

Many said they were also bored with their appearance
but didn't know how to or couldn't afford to give themselves a
make-over.

 

The study conducted among 3,000 women found almost
seven out of ten females are fed up with being broke.

 

Most claim they are happy in their current
relationships - but almost seven out of ten are fed up with being
skint.

 

Nearly half said they were 'sick and tired' of doing
the same things day in and day out, while 46 blamed their dissatisfaction on
their terrible social life.

 

Four in ten said they hated their job while another
four out of ten said they would be happier with life if they could take more
holidays.

 

More than a third said the constant cycle of dirty
dishes, laundry, vacuuming, dusting and cleaning left them yearning for a change
of scenery.

 

Elaine Smith, marketing manager for Florette Fruit,
said: "Women today are so busy trying to have it all - the job, the family, the
social life - that somehow we've ended up with nothing.

 

"It is no surprise two thirds of British women are
bored with their lives and half are sick of doing the same thing day in and day
out.

 

'Women have lost the get-up-and-go to shake up their
lives and try something different.'

 

 

 

 

Interestingly, a whopping nine out of ten reckoned
they would be less bored with life if they made an effort to be more
spontaneous.

 

Of the unusual things women wish they had the guts to
do, six in 10 dreamed of driving to the airport and board the first available
plane.

 

Over a third of girls liked the idea of packing their
bags and emigrating to another country, while 31 per cent fantasised about
telling people what they really thought of them.

 

It also emerged a quarter of women would like to walk
into work and hand in their notice and the same percentage wished they could
chop all their hair off to make a statement.

 

The study also showed six out of ten would feel much
happier if they were able to have more holidays during the year.

 

 

Nearly half of women say a move away from their
current house and town would make a massive difference, and 45 per cent reckon a
change of appearance - such as hair, make up or wardrobe - would do them the
world of good.

 

But 34 per cent of women don't have the confidence to
make the necessary changes to their life to make them happy, while 29 per cent
claim not to have the time.

 

London-based life coach Becki Houlston said: 'Women
across Britain have taken the first step by admitting they are bored of the
monotony of their lives, but now need to address the 'buts' which get in the way
of them grasping opportunities.

 

'Grabbing those spontaneous moments only takes place
when we remove the barrier between what we want to do and actually taking
action.

 

'A huge part of that interference is a 'but', whether
it's 'I wish I could say yes to that invite, but I don't have the energy' or 'I
wish I could relax but I need to get this done.' 

 

'Buts' limit the exploration of possibilities by the
brain and, along with the energy boost of eating fresh fruit, it's these
possibilities that open the door for spontaneous actions - and the motivation
for life which follows.'

فيلم "ميجا مايند" يتصدر قائمة الأفلام الأمريكية

    حقق فيلم "Megamind" للرسوم المتحركة الذي يدور حول شخصية شرير خارق نجاحا كبيرا في قائمة الأفلام الأمريكية (البوكس أوفس) وذلك عند افتتاحه خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع .

وحقق الفيلم ثلاثي الأبعاد الذي يقوم بالأداء الصوتي فيه ويل فاريل في دور الشرير الخارق و برادبيت في دور الرجل الطيب 47.7 مليون دولار.

واحتل المركز الثاني فيلم "Due Date" الذي يلعب فيه روبرت داونى جونيور دور والد يحاول الوصول لمنزله لحضور ولادة طفله وبصحبته زاك جاليفياناكس محققا 33.5 مليون دولار.

وجاء فى المركز الثالث فيلم "For Colored Girls" الذي يدور حول حياة 8 سيدات أمريكيات من أصل أفريقي ويقوم ببطولته ووبى جولدبيرج وجانيت جاكسون وحقق 20 مليون دولار .

وشغل فيلم "Red" المركز الرابع (8.9 مليون دولار) يليه فيلم الرعب "Saw" ثلاثي الأبعاد (8.2 مليون دولار).

الحقيل: قضايا التعويض عن الأعمال الإرهابية من صلاحيات المحكمة المتخصصة.. ولا علاقة ل «المظالم»

    أكد رئيس ديوان المظالم الشيخ إبراهيم الحقيل أن النظر في قضايا التعويض عن  الضرر الذي تسببت به الأعمال الإرهابية هو من اختصاص المحكمة المتخصصة التي تنظر بمحاكمة المتهمين في القضايا الإرهابية , نافيا أن يكون ديوان المظالم له علاقة بهذا الشأن.

وأوضح الحقيل عقب حضوره حلقة نقاش بعنوان « الاتجاهات الحديثة لديوان المظالم بجامعة الملك سعود أن الديوان بدأ قبل اسبوعين بتطبيق المحكمة الالكترونية خلال نظره في احدى القضايا التجارية. وقال بدأنا نصدر أول الأحكام الالكترونية ونحاول انجاز شبكتنا الالكترونية للاستمرار , والنظر ليس في الأحكام التجارية فقط وإنما كذلك بالجزائية والإدارية.

وأضاف «بنيتنا التحتية في الحاسب الآلي لا تزال بحاجة إلى عمل , وخلال سنة سيكون لدينا منظومة جديدة لعمل المحكمة الالكترونية «.

وعن كشف الديوان لهوية من المتسبب في بعث رسالة منسوبة إلى ديوان المظالم لعدد من المتقدمين للمسابقة الوظيفية في توافد أعداد إلى مقر الديوان , قال : الموضوع في عهدة الأمن وتم إبلاغ الشرطة وننتظر نتائج التحقيق لكن الديوان لم يبعث أي رسالة , والموقع كان مغلقا ولا يستطيع احد اختراقه , وليس لديوان المظالم أي دور في ذلك بالعكس الديوان عالج الموقف معالجة جيدة وأعلن في لحظتها أن الرسائل غير صحيحة.

واستبعد ان يكون «هكرز» خلف الموضوع, وقال انه يبدو أنها لعبة حيث أن ايميل الديوان  الالكتروني على الهوتميل, فيما تم إرسال الرسائل المذكورة عبر بريد الالكتروني من الجيميل.

واكد ان الديوان يتعزم تعيين مائة قاض مع نهاية السنة الحالية , ليرتفع الى خمسمائة قاض ويتم حل قضية تأخر القضايا ,وقال انه سيصدر قريبا ما يفرح فيما يخص التوسع في مباني الديوان.

واعلن الحقيل خلال الكلمة التي القاها بحفل الورشة تحت رعاية وزير التعليم العالي الدكتور خالد بن محمد العنقري عن اكتمال الاستعدادات في الديوان للبدء في إعداد المدونة الكبرى لأحكام الديوان الإدارية والجزائية والتجارية والتأديبية خلال الثلاثين عاماً الماضية، بما تتضمنه من مبادئ وأحكام واجتهادات قضائية، تمهيداً لنشرها ووضعها بين يدي الباحثين والمختصين لتبرز دليلاً ساطعاً على علو كعب قضائنا السعودي وقدرته على معالجة نوازل العصر بالاستناد إلى أحكام شريعتنا الغراء.

واوضح أن دعوى التعويض تعتبر من أهم صور دعاوى القضاء الكامل، التي تتسع فيها سلطة القاضي الإداري، وهي حقيقة بالدرس والبحث للوصول إلى تأصيل متميز لها سواء في الفقه أو القضاء، ولا يزال ديوان المظالم يباشر قضاء التعويض بتطوير مستمر يناسب مقتضيات واقعنا المعاصر، وبما يناسبه أيضاً من الأحكام والمبادئ الثابتة في الشريعة الإسلامية.

وقال من المسلّمات أن تطوير مرفق القضاء وخاصة الإداري والارتقاء به يُعد من الأولويات لكل دولة متقدمة منصفة عادلة، نظراً لما يضطلع به هذا القضاء من تحقيق للعدل وإنصاف للناس من قرارات جهة الإدارة وتصرفاتها، ولذلك كان ذلك التطوير من أولويات خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز - أيده الله - فأطلق مشروعه المبارك لتطوير مرفق القضاء عام ١٤٢٨ه، مستهدفاً تعزيز التطوير القضائي، ودعمه مالياً ومعنوياً، إذ يعد هذا المشروع في تاريخ قضائنا السعودي نقلة تاريخية وحضارية مشرفة، ولا أبالغ إن قلت إن هذا المشروع هو تأسيس جديد للقضاء السعودي العصري المستند إلى ثوابت ومضامين أحكام شريعتنا الإسلامية السمحة، مع تجديد وتحديث للآليات والطرائق، وإننا لندعو المولى عز وجل أن يجعل هذا المشروع في ميزان حسنات خادم الحرمين الشريفين، وأن يُعلي به قدره في الدنيا والآخرة.  واضاف ومن المعلوم أن هذا المشروع الرائد شمل ديوان المظالم، وأعاد ترتيب الاختصاصات القضائية له وللقضاء العام أيضاً. فألحق القضاء التجاري والجزائي بالقضاء العام الذي هو القضاء الطبيعي في كل المنازعات غير الإدارية، فيما خصص الديوان بالقضاء الإداري والتأديبي، وجاءت الاختصاصات التي نص عليها النظام من الشمول بمكان، بحيث أصبح لديوان المظالم الاختصاص العام للفصل في كافة المنازعات التي تكون الادارة طرفاً فيها، سواء كان سببها قراراً أم عقداً أم واقعة مادية.

واختتم كلمته  بقوله «ولاشك أن المتأمل لقضاء التعويض في ديوان المظالم يرقب عدداً من الاتجاهات الحديثة فيه، والتي أصدر قضاء الديوان - بناءً عليها - عدداً كبيراً من الأحكام المتعلقة بطلبات ودعاوى التعويض الموجهة من ذوي الشأن ضد الجهات الحكومية، وهذه الاتجاهات والاجتهادات القضائية القديمة والحديثة، والمبادئ المستقرة في الديوان، تتبدى منتثرة في أحكام الديوان، ما نُشر منها وما سوف ينشر لاحقاً بإذن الله».

    أكدت السيدة أم هديل (مواطنة سعودية) بأن معظم زيجات غير السعوديين بالمرأة السعودية هدفه المصلحة الخاصة للزوج والاستفادة من المميزات التي تعطى له ويمكن أن يحصل عليها من خلال زواجه بالسعودية مستغلا جنسيتها للحصول على فرصة أكبر للعمل في التجارة باسمها ومحاولة الحصول على الجنسية.. التي في الغالب يأخذها الكثير من غير السعوديين لتحقيق مصالحهم بالدرجة الأولى وليس نفع وخدمة الوطن.

وطالبت النساء السعوديات أن يحذرن من الملمس الناعم والكلام المعسول والرومانسية التي يتصنعها غير السعوديين مع المرأة السعودية خاصة إذا كانت غنية وتملك مالا لأن ذلك يخفي وراءه ثعبانا ساما يريد أن ينفث سمومه في جسد تلك المرأة التي قد تخدعها الكلمات المنمقة والأشكال الناعمة ليأتي بعد ذلك ويستولي على كل ما تملكه ويهرب بعيدا ويتركها للندم والحسرة.. وأوضحت أنها وصلت لهذه الحقيقة من خلال تجربة شخصية، حيث استطاع أحد الوافدين من جنسية عربية أن يخدع إحدى بناتي بدهائه ويتزوج بها ويستولى على ممتلكاتها والصالون الذي أسسته ياسمها ومن نقودها وأخذ سياراتها بعد وفاتها بمرض السرطان. وقد أساء لي كثيرا ولا زلت حتى اليوم أنتظر إنصافي منه ورد حقوق ابنتي التي أخذها

الحصين نقل التعازي لأسرة الشيبي في وفاة الشيخ عبدالعزيز

تسليم كسوة الكعبة المشرفة لكبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام

    قام الرئيس العام لشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي الشيخ صالح بن عبدالرحمن الحصين يوم امس بتسليم كسوة الكعبة المشرفة لكبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام تسلمها نيابة عنه نائب كبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام الشيخ الدكتور صالح بن زين العابدين الشيبي جريا على العادة السنوية التي تتم في مثل هذا اليوم من كل عام الذي تسلم فيه الكسوة الجديدة الخارجية للكعبة المشرفة لكبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام ليتم تركيبها على الكعبة المشرفة في اليوم التاسع من شهر ذي الحجة بدلا من الكسوة الحالية.

وعقب الانتهاء من مراسم الاستلام والتسليم من قبل الشيخ الحصين ونائب كبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام الدكتور صالح بن زين العابدين الشيبي تم توقيع المحاضر الخاصة بعد ذلك أقيم حفل خطابي بهذه المناسبة بدئ بتلاوة آيات من القرآن الكريم .

بعد ذلك ألقى الرئيس العام لشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي الشيخ صالح الحصين كلمة نقل فيها التعازي لأسرة الشيبي في وفاة كبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام الشيخ عبدالعزيز الشيبي .

وأكد ان هذه مناسبة عظيمة تتم في كل عام في غرة شهر ذي الحجة ويتم فيها تسليم كسوة الكعبة المشرفة الجديدة لكبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام تمهيدا لتركيبها على الكعبة المشرفة في اليوم التاسع من شهر ذي الحجة

واستعرض فيها تاريخ صناعة كسوة الكعبة المشرفة على مدى العصور الماضية وصولا للعهد السعودي الذي تطورت فيه صناعة كسوة الكعبة المشرفة من خلال إنشاء مصنع كسوة الكعبة المشرفة فى مكة المكرمة والذي يحظى بدعم واهتمام بالغ من ولاة الأمر فى هذه البلاد المباركة.

ونوه بما يحظى به الحرمان الشريفان من عناية واهتمام ودعم ومتابعة من خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز وسمو ولي عهده الأمين وسمو النائب الثاني حفظهم الله مشيرا إلى ما أنفقته الدولة من أموال على الحرمين الشريفين وما تحظى به الرئاسة العامة لشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي من دعم مادي ومعنوي مكنها وما زال يمكنها من تحقيق المهام المنوطة بها في خدمة الحرمين الشريفين وقاصديهما.

كما أثنى الشيخ الحصين بما يجده مصنع كسوة الكعبة المشرفة من اهتمام وعناية من ولاة الأمر وما زود به من إمكانات ومعدات وآليات لصناعة كسوة الكعبة المشرفة وسأل الله العلي القدير ان يجزي ولاة الأمر خير الجزاء على ما يولونه من اهتمام وعناية بالحرمين الشريفين وقاصديهما من الزوار والعمار والحجاج. بعد ذلك ألقيت كلمة كبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام ألقاها نيابة عنه الدكتور صالح الشيبي رفع فيها الشكر والامتنان لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز ال سعود وسمو ولي عهده الأمين وسمو النائب الثاني حفظهم الله على ما يولونه من اهتمام بالحرمين الشريفين وبالكعبة المشرفة وعلى ما تقدمه المملكة من خدمات ورعاية شاملة لوفود الرحمن وقاصدي بيت الله الحرام مؤكدا ان هذا ليس بمستغرب على قادة هذه البلاد التي تتخذ القرآن الكريم دستورا ونبراسا لها في جميع شؤونها منذ تأسيسها على يد الملك عبدالعزيز رحمه الله حتى يومنا هذا عهد خادم الحرمين الشريفين وسمو ولي عهده الأمين وسمو النائب الثاني.

ونوه بما يحظى به مصنع كسوة الكعبة المشرفة من عناية واهتمام من ولاة الأمر حفظهم الله مؤكدا ان صناعة كسوة الكعبة المشرفة وتخصيص مصنع خاص لها منذ عهد الملك عبدالعزيز رحمه الله يجسد مدى اهتمام ولاة الأمر في هذه الدولة بالكعبة المشرفة وبالحرمين الشريفين وبالمقدسات الإسلامية في كل مكان داعيا الله ان يحفظ خادم الحرمين الشريفين وسمو ولي عهده الأمين وسمو النائب الثاني وان يديم على هذه البلاد نعمة الأمن والأمان والاستقرار وان يحفظها من كيد الكائدين وحقد الحاقدين.

بعد ذلك شاهد الجميع فلما وثائقيا عن مصنع كسوة الكعبة والمراحل التي مر بها منذ إنشائه في عام 1346 بأمر من الملك عبدالعزيز طيب الله ثراه وما شهده من قفزات تطويرية على مر العصور حتى وصل إلى هذا العهد الزاهر عهد خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز حيث وفرت له أفضل الأجهزة والمعدات الحديثة

الإعلان عن اكتشاف نقش أثري للملك الفرعوني رمسيس الثالث شمال المملكة

    أعلنت الهيئة العامة للسياحة والآثار اكتشاف - وللمرة الأولى في تاريخ المملكة - آثار فرعونية في الجزيرة العربية تعود للقرن الثاني عشر قبل الميلاد. وقال الدكتور علي إبراهيم الغبان نائب الرئيس للآثار والمتاحف بالهيئة العامة للسياحة والآثار " إن هذا الاكتشاف تمثل في ظهور أول نقش هيروغليفي في الجزيرة العربية على صخرة ثابتة بالقرب من واحة تيماء، يحمل توقيعاً ملكياً (خرطوش مزدوج) للملك رمسيس الثالث أحد ملوك مصر الفرعونية الذي حكم مصر بين (1192 – 1160) قبل الميلاد.

وقال الغبان في مؤتمر صحفي عقدته الهيئة في المتحف الوطني بالرياض امس الأحد، إن علماء الآثار السعوديين اكتشفوا النقش بالقرب من واحة تيماء التاريخية الشهيرة التي تعد من أكبر المواقع الأثرية في المملكة العربية السعودية والجزيرة العربية، حيث تبلغ أطوال ما تبقى من الأسوار الأثرية التي تحيط بها في الوقت الراهن (13) كيلومتراً.

وأوضح أنه تم العثور على خرطوش الملك رمسيس الثالث قبل أربعة أشهر، وقد أثار العثور عليها بالقرب من تيماء في منطقة تبوك تساؤلاً كبيراً حول أسباب وجوده في عمق الشمال الغربي للجزيرة العربية.

وأضاف الدكتور الغبان أن "علماء الآثار السعوديين أجروا بحثاً ميدانياً ومكتبياً توصلوا من خلاله إلى وجود طريق تجاري مباشر يربط وادي النيل بتيماء، وكان يستخدم في عهد الفرعون رمسيس الثالث في القرن الثاني عشر قبل الميلاد، وتسير عليه القوافل المصرية للتزود من تيماء بالبضائع الثمينة التي اشتهرت بها أرض مدين مثل البخور والنحاس والذهب والفضة".

وأشار إلى أن "الطريق الذي يربط وادي النيل بتيماء محدد بتواقيع ملكية (خراطيش) للملك رمسيس الثالث وضعت على مناهل في شبه جزيرة سيناء والجزيرة العربية".

وحول مسار الطريق قال الغبان "يمر هذا الطريق بعد وادي النيل بميناء القلزم، ثم مدينة السويس حيث يوجد معبد للملك رمسيس الثالث، ثم يسير بحراً إلى سرابيط الخادم بالقرب من ميناء أبو زنيمة على خليج السويس، حيث عثر هناك على نقوش للملك رمسيس الثالث أيضاً، ثم يعبر شبه جزيرة سيناء بشكل عرضي ويمر على منهل وادي أبو غضا بالقرب من واحة نخل، حيث عثر فيه أيضاً على خرطوش مزدوج مماثل لخرطوش تيماء يحمل اسم الملك رمسيس الثالث".

وأكد " أن اكتشاف هذا الطريق سيشكل نقطة تحول في دراسة جذور العلاقات الحضارية بين مصر والجزيرة العربية، مشيراً إلى أنه لم يستخدم لمناسبة واحدة، وأن هناك المزيد من المعلومات سيتم الكشف عنها في المستقبل.

وأشار الغبان إلى أنه تم العثور في السابق على عدد من اللُقى الأثرية الصغيرة المصنوعة بمصر في عدد من المواقع الأثرية في المملكة ، مثل مدافن جنوب الظهران في المنطقة الشرقية من المملكة، وفي الفاو عاصمة مملكة كندة الواقعة في الجنوب الغربي لهضبة نجد، وفي تيماء نفسها، ومعظم هذه القطع عبارة عن (جعلان) من

Black raspberries contain powerful antioxidants which have been proven to suppress tumour development

Black raspberries may help prevent bowel cancer, new research suggests.

Scientists found that a freeze-dried version of the fruit could reduce the number of tumours in a strain of mice prone to the disease by 60 per cent.

The incidence of bowel tumours was cut by 45 per cent.

Previous research had indicated that black raspberries have antioxidant and anti-cancer properties.

In the study, the fruit inhibited tumour development by suppressing a protein called beta-catenin.

Tumour incidence and numbers were both reduced by 50 per cent in another strain of mouse vulnerable to colitis, an inflammation of the large intestine that can contribute to bowel cancer.

"We saw the black raspberry as a natural product, very powerful, and easy to access," said study leader Dr Wancai Yang, from the University of Illinois in Chicago.

The findings were published today in the journal Cancer Prevention and Research.

Both mouse strains were either fed a Western-style, high fat diet, or the same diet supplemented with 10 per cent freeze-dried black raspberry powder for 12 weeks.

Scientists saw a broad range of protective effects in the bowels of the mice given the supplement.

Black raspberries are native to the US and are a popular fruit among home gardeners, although they are less common in the UK.

    أظهرت دراسة جديدة أن التوت البري الأسود قد يساعد في الوقاية من سرطان الأمعاء.

وتبيّن في الدراسة الجديدة التي أجراها فريق علماء في جامعة أوهايو أن هذه الفاكهة توقف نمو الورم عبر قمع بروتين اسمه "بيتا كاتينين"، وذلك من خلال مركّب اسمه "أنتوسيانين" الذي يعطيها لونها الأسود إضافة إلى فيتامينات مكافحة للسرطان ومعادن وحوامض.

وقال أحد المشاركين في الدراسة، البروفسور في كلية الطب بجامعة أوهايو غاري ستونر لموقع "هلث نيوز" الأميركي انه بسبب النسبة العالية من هذا المركّب يتمتع التوت البري بنشاط كبير مضاد للأكسدة وهو ما يجعله فعالاً جداً في محاربة الخلايا السرطانية.

وتوصّل العلماء إلى أن التوت البري المجفف والمجلّد منع تشكّل الأورام الخبيثة في أمعاء فئران معدّة للإصابة بسرطان الأمعاء، بنسبة 45%. وإذا تم التوصّل إلى النتائج ذاتها عند البشر فقد تستخدم هذه الفاكهة في تفادي سرطان الأمعاء

African Americans are more likely to have a recurrence of uterine

 

cancer despite undergoing a total hysterectomy or a hysterectomy followed by radiation therapy, according to researchers at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

"The African American patients in our study had similar surgeries and radiation therapy as the Caucasian patients in the study. So access to care certainly wasn't a factor in race being identified as a negative predictor for outcome," says lead author Mohamed Elshaikh, M.D., senior staff physician in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Henry Ford Hospital.

"At this point, our next step is to take a closer look at the underlying molecular biology of these cancer cells to help identify a cause for race being a negative predictor for uterine cancer outcome."

This retrospective study - one of the largest of its kind with 750 uterine cancer patients - will be presented Nov. 2 at the 52nd annual American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) meeting in San Diego. Results also are now online in the November issue of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology

 

 

What's notable about our study is that we were able to confirm on a larger scale the known prognostic factors in uterine cancer, and also identify African American race as a negative predictor for outcome despite adequate surgery and radiation treatment," says Dr. Elshaikh.

Endometrial cancers mainly arise from the tissue lining the uterus. They are the most common gynecologic cancers in the United States, with more than 43,000 women diagnosed and an estimated 7,950 dying from the disease in 2010, according to the National Cancer Institute. The most common type, endometrioid adenocarcinoma, typically occurs within a few decades of menopause.

While a total hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) is the most common therapeutic approach, treating physicians often differ on the next step for treatment after surgery. Some recommend radiation treatment, while others recommend no further treatment.

For the Henry Ford study, Dr. Elshaikh and his colleagues identified 750 patients with stage I or II uterine cancer who underwent a total hysterectomy between 1987 and 2008. The median age was 64, and 30 percent of the study group were African American.

The study was limited to those patients who underwent surgery and received no further treatment, and those who underwent surgery and had radiation therapy.

Recurrence-free survival for the study group at 5 years and 10 years was 94 percent and 93 percent, respectively.

The median time for uterine cancer recurrence among the group was 1.2 years.

The site of recurrence was primarily vaginal (74 percent) for those who did not receive radiation therapy.

The study also found that higher tumor grade and cancer stage, along with age (older than 65), were risk factors for uterine cancer returning after treatment. African American patients in the study also were more likely to have their cancer return than Caucasian patients.

200 not out! Meet Welsh wonders Lily and Ena, the world's oldest twins

Sisters Ena Pugh and Lily Millward are claiming the title of the oldest twins in the world - at 100 years and nine months.

Farmer's daughters Ena Pugh and Lily Millward were born on January 4 1910 before the outbreak of World War 1 when Queen Victoria's son Edward VII was king.

The pair still live in the own houses, still meet up for weekly shopping sessions and chat on the telephone virtually every night.

Great-grandmother Lily revealed the secret of their long life is 'laughter and having a joke with each other.'  She said: 'We used to work on the farm all day, but we would enjoy ourselves.'

'It was a lot of fun and sociable. We've been very lucky and we have always had good health.'

Their family had no idea Ena and Lily were the oldest in the world until twins in France claimed the record last week - at a mere 98.

Lily's daughter Dianne Powell, 64, said: 'The French sisters were mere youngsters compared to my mother and aunt.'

'As twins they have been very close all their lives and they are still very close now.'

'Each of them jumps on a bus on their own every Friday so they can go shopping together and have a chat over a cup of tea.'

'And they ring each other almost every evening although they are both very hard of hearing - they can't really always know what the other is saying but just enjoy talking to each other.'

'It is marvellous to think they are the oldest twins in the world.'  Ena was born first on that chilly day in January 1910 with Lily a few minutes later in their family farm cottage in the tiny village of Garthbrengy, near Brecon in mid-Wales.

Their parents Charles and Laura Thomas had ten children - including twin brothers - but Ena and Lily are now the only survivors.

Ena married railwayman Ivor who died more than 20 years ago. She still lives in her country cottage where she raised their three children - and now has ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lily lives in a smallholding and has been a widow for nearly 20 years after the death of husband Evan, a former timber merchant. She had two children, five grand-children and nine-great grandchildren.

Both of the twins shun many of the luxuries that most of us now take for granted - neither, for example, has central heating in their home.

Dianne said: 'They both have just fires to keep them warm because that is what they have grown up with.'

'We do a bit of cleaning for them, but other than that they do everything on their own, - they both still fetch wood for their fires  They are both still very active - my mother has just made a load of jam and chutney for the local show.'

'They like to keep busy and love getting on the bus to go into town shopping on Friday to see each other.'

'Then as soon as they get home they ring each to make sure everything is all right.'

'My mother was still doing aerobics until six months ago - but had to give it up because she said some other old people needed it more than her.' 

The family were told the sisters have beaten odds of more than 700 million to one in becoming centenarians together.

Ena goes to chapel every week and is a member of her village Women's Institute.

She said: 'I think a lot of it is luck in life. But I think being kind, good and helping others is the main thing.'

'We've had a very happy life and enjoy seeing each other.' 

The sisters live just a dozen miles away from each other in the fresh air of the Welsh countryside - Ena at Erwood, near Builth Wells, and Lily still in her home village of Garthbrengy, near Brecon.

Grand-daughter Jayne Nascimento, 39, said: 'It is incredible - not only because of their age but because they are so independent and still living in their own homes.'

'My gran has lived on her small-holding for more than 60 years out in the countryside and was still keeping chickens up until a few years ago.'

'She loves living on the small-holding and maybe that is what keeps her so healthy and hearty.' 

The family heard on the radio that two sisters hit the headlines in France for being 98 last month.

Raymonde and Lucienne Wattelade, who are officially recognised as the world's oldest twins by the Guiness World Records, live in Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, south-western France.

Jayne said: 'People told me about the twins in France saying they are the oldest but know my gran is older.'

'It looks like she and my great aunt are the oldest in the world.'

'We'll be getting in touch with the Guinness Book of Records just to make sure Ena and Lily are recognised.'

    أعلنت شركة مصنعة للسجائر الإلكترونية عن شراكة مع إحدى شركات الطيران في كاليفورنيا بغية توفير فرصة "تدخين" سجائر إلكترونية على متن الطائرات.

وأفادت صحيفة "يو إس آي توداي" الأميركية ان "بلو سيغز" و"غلوبل إكزيك أفياشن" في لونغ بيتش تأملان بأن تسمح لهما شركات الطيران التجارية بتقديم خيار تدخين السجائر الإلكترونية للركاب.

يشار إلى ان التدخين منع في حزيران/يونيو 2000 على متن كل الرحلات الجوية المحلية والدولية من وإلى أميركا، لكن المتحدث باسم وزارة النقل الأميركية بيل موسلي قال ان الحكومة لم تقرر بعد إن كان المنع يشمل السجائر الإلكترونية أم لا.

وأوضحت الصحيفة ان السجائر الإلكترونية تعمل على البطارية وهي مؤلفة من مرذاذ يسخن فيه سائل له مذاق معين فيحصل المدخن على كمية كافية من النيكوتين من دون انبعاث أي دخان أو رائحة.

وأشارت الصحيفة إلى ان شركات الطيران التجارية لم تبد حتى الآن أي اهتمام بهذا العرض

A mother has no problem telling her newborn twins apart - because  one was born black and the other white.

Shirley Wales, 21, who gave birth by caesarean section, was astonished when the midwife handed her her children.

For while son Leo resembled his Grenadian mother, with dark skin, brown eyes and thick hair, her daughter Hope was the image of her father, with light skin, blue eyes and fair sparse hair.

Leo was born first weighing 5lb 14oz closely followed by his sister Hope at 6lb  3oz at Dewsbury District Hospital, West Yorkshire.

Shirley said: 'I knew I was having twins, and I knew one was a boy and one was a girl, but I couldn't believe it when the midwife told me they had different skin tones after I'd given birth to them.

'Throughout the pregnancy I'd joked about the babies being black and white, I  even said to my friends that if one was black and one was white I'd call them Ebony and Ivory. When they were born though, I realised it would be cruel to actually call them that.

'I immediately noticed that Hope was completely white and although they didn't  look that different when they were first born, because they both had a bit of  jaundice, I could tell Leo's skin was going to get darker and Hope's was going to stay white.'

Shirley texted all her friends with the surprising news.

She said: 'I had about 100 visitors in the first couple of days because people wouldn't  believe me until they had seen it for themselves.'

Shirley's parents are both Grenadian while the twins' father, who she is no longer in a relationship with, is white. She discovered she was pregnant just nine days after her babies were conceived.

'I knew I was pregnant, I just had a feeling something wasn't right. My birth dad is a twin so obviously I realised I could be having twins but it wasn't until the 20-week scan that the midwife confirmed it.

'I was over the moon when I found out, I wanted to have one boy and one girl,  so it was perfect,' the hairdresser from Batley, West Yorkshire said.

Now 14 weeks old, little Leo and Hope have settled into their own routine and are developing their individual personalities.

Shirley said: 'They're my little miracles. They are so different, they're absolutely worlds apart.

'I call them Leo the Lion and Happy Hope, Leo gets angry when he isn't getting  attention because his sister seems to get a bit more attention from people,  whereas Hope is always smiling at everybody all the time.

'If I didn't have Leo with me, people would think Hope was my niece, but that doesn't bother me really. I love telling people that she is actually my baby.

'People just need to be open-minded, it can happen. I'm thrilled about it.'

A spokesperson for the Multiple Births Foundation said: 'Two separate eggs were fertilised by two separate sperm.

'The genes that go into defining skin colour will be different which results in  a combination of genes.
