عادت النجمة نادية الجندي من
العاصمة الاردنية عمان عقب تكريمها فى مهرجان جوردن اوورد عن دور الملكة نازلى فى
مسلسل "ملكة فى المنفى" اخراج محمد زهير رجب وانتاج اسماعيل كتكت.

وسلمت الاميرة ريم بن على صاحبة السمو
الملكى درع التكريم لنجمة الجماهير فى الحفل الكبير الذى اقيم فى مركز الملك حسين
بن طلال للمؤتمرات على شاطئ البحر الميت اثناء توزيع جوائز المهرجان على الفائزين
باعمال رمضان وشهدة ايضا عدد كبير من الفنانين بالوطن العربى.

 

وجهت نادية الجندى الشكر
للقائمين على المهرجان للجهد الذى بذلوة من اجل انجاحة ، وقالت افتخر بهذا التكريم
لانه ذو قيمة عالية و جاء من بلد عربى مما يؤكد ان العمل حقق نسبة مشاهدة ايضا فى
الدول العربية بخلاف مصر واعتبر ان تمثال التكريم يمثل بالنسبة لى تمثال الاوسكار
،واستقبال الجمهور الاردنى لى بهذا الشكل فى اول زيارة يجعلنى اعتز بهذا التكريم
خاصة وانة ياتى عن مجمل اعمالى .

 

اضافت: الدعوة التى ارسلتها
ادارة المهرجان لى وذكرت فيها اننى استطعت فى ادائى لشخصية الملكة نازلى فى مسلسل"
ملكة فى المنفى" ان امزج بين الانوثة والجانب الدرامى عبر اظهارى قدرات فنية متميزة
خاصة فى الحلقات العشر الاخيرة عندما اديت الدور بتلقائية شديدة دون اى مكياج وهذا
نادر حدوثة فى الدراما العربية سيجعلنى استمر فى تقديم الاعمال المتميزة ذات القيمة
، ولن اقبل التنازلات مهما كانت الاغراءات  حتى اظل عند حسن ظن الجمهور بى الذى

Honoured: Catherine Zeta-Jones has received a CBE in the latest list of awards

Catherine Zeta- Jones is the surprise recipient of a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List today.

The Welsh actress has risen from domestic television to become a Hollywood star – but has not lived in the UK for over a decade, preferring the life of a sun-soaked tax exile.

Miss Zeta-Jones – worth £200million with her filmstar husband Michael Douglas – was among 975 entertainers, sports stars, military heroes and ordinary people who were recognised for their achievements in the final honours list of the last government.

The recipients were put forward by Gordon Brown before he left office, and David Cameron is understood to have passed the list to Buckingham Palace without altering it.

Simon Cowell was ignored despite being heavily tipped for a knighthood, while Gurkhas campaigner Joanna Lumley’s expected elevation to dame never materialised. Likewise, senior bankers were almost entirely snubbed, with public anger still fresh at the credit crunch.

Last night Miss Zeta-Jones, 40, said: ‘I am absolutely thrilled with this honour. As a British subject, I feel incredibly proud, at the same time it is overwhelming and humbling. And my mum and dad are delighted beyond belief. Thank you.’

She grew up around the Mumbles area of Swansea, and aged 22 she landed the role of Mariette Larkin in ITV’s The Darling Buds Of May.

She moved to Hollywood in 1996 and starred in movies such as The Mask Of Zorro. Her CBE was awarded for services to the film industry and to charity.

Miss Zeta-Jones makes regular returns to Britain and is a patron of The Children’s Hospital for Wales. Meanwhile food guru Prue Leith, who becomes a CBE today, said she was ‘very pleased’ and was looking forward to wearing it to dinner parties.

The 70-year-old restaurateur and writer was until recently the head of the School Food Trust.

Tamara Mellon, given an OBE, used a £150,000 loan from her father to turn a little-known London cobbler’s into the Jimmy Choo empire worth £200million. Sir Chris Bonington is appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order by the Queen.

This year’s honours list was described as ‘the most diverse ever’ by Whitehall sources, with 47 per cent of awards going to women and 7.3 per cent to people from ‘minority communities’.

As ever, ordinary people from all walks of life are rewarded for years of service, with three quarters of the honours for work in the community.

The Chief Girl Guide Liz Burnley receives a CBE while two mothers who set up Women Like Us, a website to help mothers combine work with childcare, receive MBEs. Karen Mattison, 41, and Emma Stewart, 38, set up the site to free women stuck ‘behind the school gates’. 

 

Bergerac OBE, snub for Bruce

Household names of popular television shows were among the entertainers recognised with honours today.

Bergerac actor John Nettles, who also stars in Midsomer Murders, said he was ‘absolutely thrilled and delighted’ at receiving an OBE.

Coronation Street stars also featured heavily including Eileen Derbyshire, 78, who has played one of TV’s most enduring characters, Emily Bishop, for nearly half a century.

The Cheshire-based actress said of her MBE: ‘I’m honestly astounded and very surprised.’ Actresses Anne Reid, 75, who played Ken Barlow’s doomed first wife, and Barbara Knox, 76, who plays Rita Sullivan, are made MBEs.

But there was surprise that veteran TV host Bruce Forsyth missed out on a knighthood.

There was also recognition for military heroes. Major Phil Packer, an Iraq war veteran who was told he would never walk again but went on to raise £1.3million for charity through feats including rowing the Channel and finishing the London marathon is honoured with the MBE.

One of the founders of the Help for Heroes charity, Bryn Parry, admitted he felt embarrassed to learn he and his wife Emma had been awarded OBEs.

ساندرا بولوك: حياتي الزوجية تشبه «الانفجار»

    ظهرت النجمة الأمريكية ساندرا بولوك لأول مرة علنا منذ الكشف عن العلاقات العاطفية لزوجها خارج إطار الزواج واعتلت المسرح في برنامج لتوزيع الجوائز في هوليوود وشبهت حياتها في الآونة الأخيرة "بالانفجار".

وظهرت بولوك التي حصلت على جائزة أوسكار أحسن ممثلة عن دورها في فيلم (البعد الآخر) في برنامج (غايز تشويس اواردز) الذي تقدمه قناة سبايك التلفزيونية للحصول على جائزة فنان العام.

وقالت بولوك ليل السبت على المسرح وهي ممسكة بالجائزة "فلنتحل بالصدق هنا للحظة. سنكون جميعا صادقين.. أليس كذلك؟

"هل فزت بهذا لأني فنانة العام أم أنني فزت بهذا بسبب انفجار العبوة الناسفة التي أصبحت تمثل حياتي الشخصية؟"

وتقدمت بولوك بطلب للحصول على الطلاق من جيسي جيمس صانع الدراجات النارية ونجم تلفزيون الواقع بعد أن اعترف بخيانته لها.

وسرعان ما تناقلت وسائل الإعلام كشف زوج بولوك عن علاقاته غير المشروعة لمدة خمس سنوات عقب فوزها بجائزة الأوسكار في مارس/ اذار. وكان الزوجان قد تبنيا ولدا صغيرا تربيه بولوك الآن بمفردها.

حازت مقدمة البرامج التلفزيونية ومذيعة الاخبار في القناة التلفزيونية الأولى بهيئة الإذاعة البريطانية (بي بي سي) فيونا بروس على جائزة أجمل مؤخرة بين نساء المملكة المتحدة لعام 2010.

وقالت صحيفة"ديلي ستار" الصادرة الخميس إن الملايين من الرجال تحديداً صوّتوا لصالح فيونا بعد ظهورها في بنطال جينز ضيق خلال تقديمها فيلماً وثائقياً عن الملكة فيكتوريا.

واضافت الصحيفة إن أعداداً كبيرة من الرجال تسمروا أمام شاشات التلفزيون للتفرج على مؤخرة فيونا من مسافات قريبة.

واشارت إلى أن فيونا، البالغة من العمر 46 عاماً، عبّرت عن صدمتها وعن إحساسها بالإطراء، لأنها لم تكن تعتقد أن الرجال ما زالوا يبحلقون في مؤخرتها وهي في هذا العمر.

وقالت الصحيفة إن الممثل ريكي، ويتيل البالغ من العمر 28 عاماً حصل على جائزة أجمال مؤخرة بين الرجال لعام 2010، بعد مشاركته في مسابقة تلفزيونية للرقص خاصة بالمشاهير.

Fiona Bruce brightens up the Antiques Roadshow with vintage fashion

Posing in a brightly-coloured dress, Fiona Bruce could be on any magazine shoot.

Except that she is wearing a vintage Pucci dress and claiming that 1970s outfits are now 'antiques'.

The Antiques Roadshow presenter has revealed that the BBC show is broadening the idea of antique to include your parents' old clothes.

The 45-year-old series presenter, said twentieth-century apparel, from bell-bottom flares to multi-coloured maxi-dresses, are deserving of a slot on the show next to pre-Raphaelite paintings and ornate 17th century vases.

'The idea of what is vintage or antique is so much more elastic now,' she said. 'At the moment, there's a massive trend for 1970s fashion. People are buying it to wear or just to collect. And they're paying big money.'

In the current issue of Radio Times, she said: 'Mum used to live in the Far East and had all these handmade dresses with matching stilettos.

 

'They are just stunning. The thing about 70s stuff is that it doesn't always look great on the hanger, but as soon as you put it on, it takes your breath away.

'I've already put away a few Chanel suits for my daughter, but just wearing this stuff has made me want something for myself. I am definitely going shopping next week.'

Vintage fashion has been massively popular in the last ten years, with huge demand for labels such as Yves St Laurent from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

The updated fashion idea means that the Roadshow is likely to get a new generation of viewers rumbling through their parents’ wardrobes and attics, looking for star items.

But die-hard fans of the show are likely to be unhappy with the change, which has come since Bruce took the helm last year.

The BBC has received dozens of complaints that it has become the 'Fiona Bruce show'.

Fashion is not the only personal passions she has brought to the Sunday afternoon favourite.

 

She was ridiculed for bringing her collection of childhood dolls onto the programme for expert appraisal.

BBC newsreader and Antiques Roadshow host Fiona Bruce has just been given the Rear Of The Year award.

First question: isn't that a little beneath her?

Second question. Oh dear, Fiona. Has it really come to this?

Wiggling your bottom for the cameras on the roof of a London hotel in a photo shoot to publicise the award?

You make it hard for us to keep up with the ebb and flow of modern feminism, you really do.

What are we supposed to do? Applaud you for revelling in the well-sprung delights of your magnificent chassis?

Perhaps you want us to believe that even in this post-spice Girl age, shaking your booty still means empowerment from the evil ox yoke of male dominance and supremacy.

Especially when that empowerment comes with a rear pocket advert for Wizard jeans.

You tell me, Fiona. I just don't know any more.

It is hardly surprising there has been much gnashing of teeth and wails of disbelief rising up from the collective breast of the sisterhood at the news.

Rear Of The Year? Fiona Bruce? Pull the other one, it's wearing a thigh-length hooker boot and a Heaven's Above tattoo.

Indeed, it is hard to believe that Bruce actually stepped up to accept the tainted accolade.

What was she thinking? For could any award be more insulting for a woman who expects and wants to be taken seriously? Except Miss Wet T-shirt, Most Kissable and Hot Or Not? Or perhaps being nominated in the Toy Dog section of Crufts.

That is never good. So Fiona, help us out here. Should we chortle with ironic knowingness at the paradox of you presenting yourself as a dumb sex object?

Or are we to sigh with despair at the shameful reductivism?

Not to mention the wholesale debasement, the cheesiness, the hooligan wrecking ball now swinging through your career, your brain power and your enviable way of shuffling the briefing notes together at the end of every bulletin.

 

 

Maybe these things just don't matter any more, but I do wonder.

For many years we have all admired the admirable starch ever-present in your crisp diction and the unilateral emotional intelligence of your magnificent eyebrows. Now we'll never look at you in quite the same way again.

All that head girl capability, that natural sense of presence, the bad news stern face, the good news dimples, the don't-mess-with-me stare right down the camera lens; all that now reduced to...what?

The cheap thrill of having, officially, the nicest, bounciest bum in the land? Was it worth it?

In her defence of her Rear Of The Year award, the 46-year-old mother-of-two said: 'If someone had told me I'd been nominated for this 20 years ago, I'd have poked them in the eye. Now I'm just flattered anyone's still looking.'

Well, you've got to admit that's funny. Fiona Bruce is clearly not the type to take herself too seriously - but being taken seriously is the crux of the matter here.

It's all that matters.

Especially in BBC-land, where women over the age of 40 are expected to do the decent thing and throw themselves off a cliff at the first sign of wrinkle or droop.

'I have to say of all the awards and accolades I've tried to win in my life this never really entered my radar,' Bruce also said. 'But when I was offered it, I just thought: "Why not?"'

Well, because it is rather demeaning, for a start.

And female newsreaders are always the first to complain about sexism, about being dismissed as lightweights and about television bosses being obsessed with their looks rather than their talent.

Which I've always thought rather ridiculous, considering they work in a visual medium.

Yet how many times have we heard their earnest protest that they are more than just pretty faces?

Well, here we have the proof that this is indeed the case. They've got pretty bottoms, too.

After years of being imprisoned behind a news desk, Bruce's hot bot came to prominence in a BBC documentary called Victoria: A Royal Love story.

The BBC1 programme was supposed to focus on the art collection of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

However, it also featured many long and lingering shots of Miss Bruce's shapely rear as she sashayed around royal palaces in her tight jeans.

Make no mistake, looking good in jeans is an art.

However, in accepting the award, the former Crimewatch presenter joins the fragrant ranks of Barbara Windsor, Melinda Messenger, Nell McAndrew, Charlotte Church, Felicity Kendal and Anneka Rice. Which is probably its own punishment.

And while it is true that, just like a discarded cigarette, Fiona Bruce has got a smokin' butt, I wish she had just said: 'Thanks, but no thanks.' I really do.

توايلايت» يفوز بخمس من جوائز «إم تي في» السينمائية

    استحوذ فيلم مصاصي الدماء "توايلايت: نيو مون" على جوائز "إم تي في" السينمائية التي جرى توزيعها مساء الأحد (بالتوقيت المحلي)، ليفوز بخمس جوائز بينها جائزة أفضل فيلم وجائزة أفضل ممثل وجائزة أفضل ممثلة وجائزة أفضل قبلة.

وصاح بطلا الفيلم روبرت باتينسون وكريستين ستيوارت من الفرحة عند استلام جائزتيهما. كما شاهد المعجبون أول ملخص عرض للجزء الثالث من الفيلم في سلسلة الأفلام المستوحاة من روايات المؤلفة ستيفاني ماير التي حققت أفضل مبيعات. كما فاز باتينسون بجائزة النجم العالمي متفوقا على الممثلين جوني ديب وزاك إفرون.

After three months of shunning the limelight, Sandra Bullock has made a storming return to the public eye.

In her first televised appearance since her split from unfaithful husband Jesse James, a smiling and positive Sandra made it clear she was ready to move on with her life.

At the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles last night, she jokingly embraced actress Scarlett Johansson.

She then insisted: 'Now that we have done that, can we please go back to normal?'

Never one to have a bad hair day, the humidity got the better of Kylie Minogue today as she stepped out in New York looking somewhat frizzy.

The singer's naturally wavy hair tightened into smaller curls as she left her Manhattan hotel to do some shopping in the city.

And her wild hairdo bounced around her head and she had to hold it back from her face as she made her way to her car.

The singer, who arrived in New York on Wednesday, took time out from her schedule to go shopping for antiques in downtown Manhattan.

Kylie, 42, has been in the city promoting her new album Aphrodite after a tour of the US last year.

Yesterday she appeared on chat show The Today Show to promote the album to hosts Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb and took the opportunity to quash reports that her relationship with her partner Andres Velencoso Segura, and said: 'Life is pretty good right now.'

Kylie has slammed rumours that she's split from her model boyfriend Andres Velencoso Segura, branding the speculation as mad.

The singer has been dating the Spanish hunk, who is almost a decade younger than her, for the past 18 months, but tabloid reports earlier this week claimed they had decided to end their relationship.

Now Minogue, who turned 42 last week, has opened up about their romance, telling her fans to pay no attention to the split reports.

    أعلن منظمو حفل توزيع جوائز "توني" المسرحية في نيويورك عن اختيار النجوم أنطونيو بانديراس وكيت بلانشيت ومايكل دوغلاس وجاستن غارثا وكيلسي غرامر لتسليم الجوائز في 13 يونيو الجاري.

وأشار المنظمون إلى انه من المتوقع أن ينضم إلى الذين سيسلمون الجوائز في الحفل الذي يكرم أفضل الممثلين على مسارح برودواي في موسم 2009 2010 كل من سكارليت يوهانسون ولورا ليني ولوسي ليو وهيلين ميرن وكريس نوث وبرناديت بيترز وديفيد هايد بيرس وتوني شلهوب وليف شريبر ودنزل واشنطن وراكيل ولش.

ويطل نجما مسلسل "غلي" ليا ميشيل وماثيو موريسون في الحفل الذي يقام في قاعة "راديو سيتي ميوزيك" بمنهاتن وينقل مباشرة عبر شبكة "سي بي إس".

Green Day, Cate Blanchett, Denzel Among Tony Awards Stars

The Tony Awards won’t be boring this year, that’s for sure.

The June 13th telecast on CBS will feature Green Day, the punk group that inspired Best Musical nominee, “American Idiot.”

Plus, the Tonys just announced they’re bringing back performances from the Best Plays — new and revived. This will include Denzel Washington and Viola Davis from Fences; Justin Bartha, Anthony LaPaglia and Tony Shalhoub from Lend Me a Tenor; Jan Maxwell and Rosemary Harris of The Royal Family; Liev Schreiber and Scarlett Johansson from A View from the Bridge; Laura Benanti and Michael Cerveris from In the Next Room or the vibrator play; Patrick Breen and Patrick Heusinger of Next Fall; Laura Linney and Brian d’Arcy James from Time Stands Still; and Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne from Red.

The show will also include Antonio Banderas, Cate Blanchett, Michael Douglas, Scarlett Johansson, Lucy Liu, Helen Mirren, Chris Noth, Bernadette Peters, David Hyde Pierce and Raquel Welch. Plus Catherine Zeta Jones and Kelsey Grammer will perform, respectively, from A Little Night Music and La Cage Aux Folles.

Viola Davis is going to win Best Actress in A Play, but if Cate Blanchett’s “Streetcar Named Desire” had been on Broadway– and not at BAM in Brooklyn–things might have been different. That would have been some campaign!

One name I don’t see yet: Valerie Harper, nominated for “Looped” as Best Actress, playing Tallulah Bankhead. Harper, a four time Emmy Award winner as Rhoda Morgenstern, should be a presenter.

But don’t expect to see Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth from The Addams Family. They weren’t nominated and neither was the show. There will be no snapping at this year’s Tonys. And yet: the terrible musical continues to gross an average of $1,2 million a week. It gets the Tony for Most Critic Proof Show in Broadway History

مخرج «سيد الخواتم» يحصل على لقب فارس

    مُنح مخرج سلسلة أفلام "سيد الخواتم" النيوزيلندي بيتر جاكسون لقب "فارس" تقديراً على مساهماته في عالم السينما.

ونقلت إذاعة نيوزيلندا عن جاكسون وصفه اللقب الذي ناله بالمشرِّف.

وقد منح حاكم عام نيوزيلندا، أناد ساتياناند، جاكسون بالإضافة إلى 13 آخرين لقب "فارس" باسم ملكة بريطانيا إليزابيث الثانية، في احتفال أقيم في العاصمة ويلنتغتون يوم الأربعاء.

وقال جاكسون إن نجاحه يشمل عدداً من الأشخاص، لذا شعر أنه يتسلم الجائزة بالنيابة عن صناعة كبيرة.

كما منح لقب فارس للممثل ستيوارت دبفيني الذي مثل في عدد من أفلام جاكسون.

فاز مخرج القمر دنكان بجائزة المخرد الناشئ .ولم يستغل  شهرة والد المغني الإنجليزي ديفيد بوي.فبعد أن هجرته والدته و ذهبت لتعيش مع صديقتها ،رعاه والده  وربته دادة أسكوتلنديه لتعةضه حنان الأم. في عام 1979 طلق ةالده أمه و تنازلت عن حضانته  مقابل 500 ألف ،علاوة على أن ديفيد كان بحوزته صورا لها مع عشيقة .في مراهقته درس في مدرسة داخلية.و تركها بعد نام في الفصل وهو يمتحن. و فشل والده أن يعلمه العزف على أي من الألات الموسيقية.سافر ل للعمل في تعليم ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة  في سويسرا ليبحث عن ذاته ، ومن ثم إلى أمريكا حيث حصل على منحة دراسية ودرس لتحضسر الدكتوراة ،ولما فشلت علاقته مع صديقته أسقط في يده وعاد القهقري.

وأثناء تواجده في تصوير والده لمشاهد من مسلسل ،سمح له بحمل كاميرا تصوير في مكان التصوير فوقع في غرام المهنة السينمائية ووجد ذاته الممزقة ،و دخل معهد السينما في لندن .وهناك كانت البداية .ومن ثم عمل في مكتب .و ذات مرة أحضر سيناريو فيلم القمر عن رجل إقترب موعد رحلته في محطة فضائية إستغرقت 3 سنوات. و قامت زوجة المطرب ستينج بتوفير مليوني لإنتاد الفيلم ،فظخر للنور ونال إستحسان النقاد وفاز بجائزة في مهرجان البافتا البريطاني.و كانت كلمة شكر المخرج مؤثرة جدا وتهدج صوته و أغرورقت عيناه بالدموع .

The speech was as heartfelt as the man delivering it was unheralded. As he reached the Bafta podium last Sunday, where he was awarded the prize for best debut by a British writer, director or producer, Duncan Jones was overcome.

He gave an introductory 'Um...er...wow', and from that moment he was choking back tears.

'Thank you so much,' he said, in a voice cracking with emotion. 'I didn't actually realise how much this meant to me.' He added, with tears in his eyes: 'It's taken me an awfully long time to know what I wanted to do with my life and finally I have found what I love doing.'

What many in the watching audience did not know was that this bearded, well-built 38-year-old man was the child formerly known as Zowie Bowie.

Yes, the son of David and Angie Bowie, born into an unimaginably dysfunctional family, with both parents addicted to drugs and practising a bizarre sexual free-for-all - Angie described their pairing as rather like a couple of bisexual alleycats.

Their marriage ended in suicide bids, recriminations and a financial pay off.

When he was just a little tot, the boy who was born Duncan Zowie Hayward Jones (Jones is David Bowie's real surname) came on a particularly raucous tour to Japan with his mum and dad - there are pictures of an angelic blond boy sandwiched between his two parents, both with razor cheekbones and rooster hair.

 

For years, when his father was hopelessly addicted to cocaine, and then alcohol, he was raised by a nanny.

The nanny, Marion Skene, was both his mother and father figure. Angie left the family when he was four and David wasn't capable of taking more than an occasional role.

'For the first six or seven years of his life I was around so infrequently I can't imagine what an abyss that has caused,' David has admitted.

Home was a rock star mansion in Switzerland and they would holiday on Mustique with Mick Jagger.

David, who lives in New York with his second wife Iman, is proud of his son. He was the first person Duncan called when he stepped off the stage - and I'm told you could hear David's hollers of delight when he heard the news.

So how did Duncan Jones mature from his confused years to become the Bafta award-winning director and writer he is today?

Today Duncan shares a flat with some male friends in Chelsea and has a girlfriend - whom he refuses to name publicly, such is his experience of the limelight.

This week he is in Canada preparing to make a major £30million picture starring the Oscar-nominated Jake Gyllenhaal.

His friend and mentor Trevor Beattie - the advertising guru - tells me: 'Duncan is the most talked about director in Hollywood.'

The story begins in 1969 when David Bowie met the wild-child daughter of a U.S. army colonel, Mary Angela Barnett, known as Angie.

David drawled in an interview: 'We were both f*****g the same bloke.'

She was an art student who wanted to act, with a talent for outrage and a taste for casual sex.

'I was wild and David needed me to help him be wild,' she said. 'I chopped his hair off and dyed it and put him in a dress. I gave him notoriety. He gave me fame.'

It seems to have been an entirely pragmatic pairing - Angie needed a visa to remain in the UK. And it was certainly an open marriage.

They had a threesome with an actress on the eve of their wedding in 1970 and David once asked Angie: 'Can you deal with the fact that I'm not in love with you?'

Angie clearly could. She once declared: 'Free love was natural and simply what one did.'

Their home was the mansion Haddon Hall in Beckenham, just outside London, where they enjoyed a Bohemian lifestyle. Everyone came to stay and make music - Marc Bolan, the Rolling Stones, Marianne Faithfull.

Zowie was born a year after the wedding. Angie says that he was her gift to David and that his birth, on May 30, 1971, was the happiest day of both their lives, and the first and only time she saw David cry.

'He just loved that little boy. I cuddled him and said: "Welcome to the world, Zowie." David stood there with tears in his eyes.'

The name was Angie's idea, a variation on Zoe, which means life in Greek; David had favoured the name Duncan.

Angie had trouble relating to her son from the start. 'Poor little thing, he cried all the time. I had difficulty bonding. You feel your freedom has been taken from you, totally and utterly.

'It's a frightening thing to adjust to. One has such deep doubts about one's ability to act as a good parent.'

Soon after she came out of hospital, Angie fled to Italy for an orgiastic holiday with a bisexual girlfriend.

The tiny baby was dumped with his father. 'I don't know if David ever forgave me,' Angie later said. 'It's one of those things where you look back and think: "Oops, maybe that was it."'

As the Seventies progressed, it became clear the marriage was a sham. Bowie launched his Ziggy Stardust alter-ego and spent months on the road.

He made millions and his cocaine habit took off at a frightening rate.

By 1974, he was pasty, emaciated and hardly able to speak.

'Emotionally and physically I was an absolute shell,' David admitted.

Angie was annoyed when David started openly maintaining various mistresses.

She didn't mind what he did when they were apart, but was furious when she found him with groupies when she was home.

She even said that one morning she walked in to find David naked and asleep in bed with Mick Jagger.

David has always denied any sexual liaison with the Rolling Stone and calls his ex-wife 'delusional'.

David began to regard Angie with contempt, saying that she had 'as much insight into the human condition as a walnut and a self-interest that would make Narcissus green with envy'.

The daily business of raising a small child was too much for either of them. In 1975, they separated, with Duncan going to live in Switzerland with his father.

Marion Skene, their Scottish nanny, effectively became Duncan's mother. He said: 'I've always considered her as my mum, so I never felt I was missing out in any way.'

In 1979, David asked for a divorce and Angie granted him custody of Duncan. She says she knew she would not have been awarded custody as David had pictures of her making love with a woman.

She took a £500,000 payout and signed a ten-year gagging contract. She made at least two suicide bids - but David remained unmoved.

He had other things on his mind - by now he had moved to Berlin and was collaborating with Iggy Pop, and was still battling with his cocaine addiction.

In the depths of his battle for survival, David says, he would look at his young son and think: 'Well, this is worth living for.' But his drug abuse was so extreme that he said he once blew his nose 'and half my brains came out'.

He's been left with a wonky right nostril and huge gaps in his memory as a result.

Despite the trauma his parents were inflicting on each other and their young son, the seeds of Duncan's eventual career had already been sown.

He remembers playing with his father at making stop motion films with an 8mm camera and his collection of Smurf toys.

He would flip between being tutored privately and going to school. 'It was a bit all over the place,' Duncan said in an interview, 'but if you're brought up that way it feels very natural.'

He would go on tour with his father and the roadies would play games with him backstage. School holidays were spent in Mustique.

'I'd go to Basil's Bar, eat some banana bread, eat some lobster, read books, watch films, have a swim. The whole Jagger clan would be down there.'

Until this point, Duncan had visited his mother twice a year. But by 1984, the 13-year-old had lost patience with her and told her that he didn't want to see her again.

At the time she was struggling to get clean from drugs and living in New York's trendy Greenwich Village. They had an argument which escalated and she accused her son of being 'bourgeois'. They haven't spoke since.

As a teenager, Duncan boarded at Prince Charles's alma mater, Gordonstoun. Now, he says drily that he could have done with a more nurturing environment.

He got seven O-levels, but he was asked to leave when he was 18 for falling asleep during his A-level English exam.

David, by now teetotal and fitness conscious, was furious. But Duncan had no idea what he wanted to do, and was struggling with his father's fame and the constraints of a very traditional boarding school.

There was no question of his following his father into music - friends say that Duncan cannot play any instrument and is not even vaguely musical. His father tried him out on saxophone, piano, drums and guitar and failed to raise even a glimmer of interest.

Duncan said: 'I was a grumpy, surly, upset, confused person, and of course I had the burden of a lot of people's preconceptions about who I was.'

This was apparent in his change of name - rather confusingly, he had voluntarily gone from Zowie to Joe at the age of 13. But at 18, he decided he wanted to go back to his birth name, Duncan.

With few qualifications, the confused Duncan moved to London to 'find himself' and spent six months working at the legendary Jim Henson's Creature Shop, creators of Kermit the Frog.

This lucky break was down to contacts he made while hanging around on the set of his father's 1986 film Labyrinth.

But desperate for anonymity, Duncan returned to Switzerland to work with children with learning disabilities. On a teacher's advice, he took U.S. college entrance exams and won a scholarship to the College of Wooster, in rural Ohio, about as far from the celebrity circuit he had grown up in as it was possible to be.

Three years later, he graduated with a philosophy degree, having managed to keep his identity secret from most of his classmates.

It was rather a juggling act - during one holiday, he was best man at his father's New York wedding to Iman. The witnesses were Bono and Yoko Ono.

Still pursuing his dream of regular life, he followed his then girlfriend, Jennifer Ichida, to Nashville to do a PhD at Vanderbilt University. It was a disaster. 'The relationship didn't work out and I was stuck in Nashville. I think my dad was most confused by it all. He was concerned why I would put myself through that.'

One holiday, David Bowie suggested his son join him on the set of The Hunger, a TV series he was starring in. Tony Scott was the director and he allowed Duncan to roam the set with his own camera.

At last, the lost boy had found his vocation. He successfully applied to London Film School as plain Duncan Jones. Again, he tried hard to stay anonymous, living in a rented flat in Clerkenwell.

Eventually, he made a showreel, which was passed to advertising chief Trevor Beattie.

He offered Duncan a job and they worked together for more than two years. 'He was quite intrigued to work in an office,' says Beattie. 'Then one day he came in with a screenplay for me to read. It was brilliant and I said to him: "What do you want me to do?''

The screenplay was for Moon, Duncan's award-winning sci-fi film about an astronaut who is the only inhabitant of a space station and nearing the end of a three-year tour of duty.

It was shot in Pinewood Studios on a modest £2.5 million budget, which Beattie and Sting's wife Trudie Styler - both executive producers - helped to raise.

The Hollywood 'bible', Daily Variety, described Moon as 'ingenious and trailblazing'. The New York Times hailed it as 'extraordinary'.

'He is a genius in my view, a major talent,' Beattie tells me. 'He is very shy, very courteous and very gentlemanly. You could not meet anyone more polite or with more beautiful manners.

'He is what you would call a very well-brought-up young man. I know that David is very proud of him.'

His former girlfriend Jennifer says: 'He is a fantastic, special person. I was supremely happy all of the time I was with him. He has lots of great friends, is very outgoing and is close to his father. They have a good relationship.'

Angie Bowie, who lives in Arizona with her boyfriend, says that she is also 'thrilled and happy' that her son has won a Bafta for his film Moon, but there is a sting in the tail.

'I am delighted to see his career bloom into flower. I wonder whose creative talents he has inherited?' she tells me.

She adds: 'I went to see the film in Los Angeles last year and I cried. The theme is anger and abandonment and it made me question our relationship. I haven't seen my son since he was a child. I have tried to reach out to him over the years, but for whatever reason he does not want to be in contact.'

Angie says she feels that Duncan is 'messed up' by her abandoning him. She believes the film is about her. But Duncan's friends deny this.

'Angie would say that it was about herself, wouldn't she?' says Trevor Beattie. 'It is categorically not about her and nothing to do with her, but you will notice that whenever he has some success she likes to pop up and claim it for herself.

'He is his own man, and proud to be his own man, and he has achieved his success on his own terms. I have news for Angie which is simply this: "It's not about you, love."

    فازت مغنية البوب الأميركية ليدي غاغا بثلاث جوائز "بريت" الموسيقية في حفل أقيم في العاصمة البريطانية لندن.

وأفادت هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية "بي بي سي" ان ليدي غاغا حصلت على لقب "أفضل مغنية دولية" و"أفضل مغنية صاعدة" فيما حصد ألبومها "الشهرة" جائزة "أفضل ألبوم دولي".

ونال مغني الراب الأميركي جاي زي جائزة "أفضل مغني دولي"، في حين أعلن ديزي راسكال "أفضل مغن بريطاني".

وفازت ليلي آلن بجائزة "أفضل مغنية بريطانية"، في حين حصلت فرقة "جاي إل إس" المشاركة ببرنامج "إكس فاكتور" على جائزة "أفضل فرقة بريطانية صاعدة".

واختير ألبوم فرقة الروك البريطانية "اوازيس" "مجد الصباح" لحمل لقب "أفضل ألبوم خلال السنوات ال30 الماضية".

Lily Allen finally collected her first Brit Award  last night as Lady Gaga emerged as the biggest winner with three gongs to her name.

The 23-year-old U.S. star won Best International Female, International Album for The Fame and International Breakthrough Act while Allen took the gong for British Female Solo Artist.

Stunning turn: She wore fishnet tights and a racy black corset outfit complete with lace sheer sleeves

Other success stories were JLS, who won British Breakthrough Act and British Single, indie band Kasabian who won British Group and Florence and the Machine who took British Album title.

Collecting her award, wearing an orange wig, a tipsy Lily, who opened the show with her No.1 single The Fear, said: 'Wow, oh my god.'

Then beginning to giggle, she continued: 'I only wore this orange wig because I thought I would make it more difficult for the cameramen to find me and catch my disappointed face.'

But as the host Peter Kay attempted to hurry her up by sounding a horn, Lily told him: 'F*** off, I'm not leaving. F*** you.'

She then thanked her team, her family and boyfriend Sam Cooper before exiting the stage, almost forgetting her award.

Her orange wig was then hastily removed and replaced with a smart black bobbed one as she happily posed backstage with her award, which she beat Leona Lewis, Pixie Lott and Florence and the Machine to win.

Three years ago Lily slagged off the awards show when she suffered brutal disappointment after being nominated for four Brits and failing to win any.

But last night it was Pixie Lott who suffered that disappointment after walking away empty-handed, despite being nominated in three categories.

U.S. star Lady Gaga dedicated her performance to her friend, tragic fashion designer Alexander McQueen who was last week found hanged in his London flat.

She dropped plans for her lively routine featuring songs including her hit Poker Face and instead opted for a muted acoustic routine.

The star sang a mix of some of her lesser known tracks, including Telephone and Dance In The Dark. Gone were her army of backing dancers - instead she sang solo sitting at her grand piano.

Still wearing the Marie Antoinette-style wig she arrived in, the singer said at the start of her performance: 'This is for Alexander McQueen'.

Collecting her award for International Breakthrough Act later, presented to her by Cat Deeley, the emotional star said: 'Thank you so, so much. I love my fans, my fans in the UK.'

With her voice faltering she then added: 'And thank you to Lee McQueen.'

X Factor losers JLS were the most excited winners on the night as they took home two awards capping off a fantastic year for Britain's top boyband.

The four piece group beat competition from Florence And The Machine, Friendly Fires, La Roux and Pixie Lott to take the title of British Breakthrough Act.

They then went on to win the best British Single for their debut single ‘Beat Again’, beating entries by X Factor winner Joe McElderry, previous winner Alexandra Burke and show mentor Cheryl Cole.

Cheryl Cole made it on stage to perform a version of Fight For This Love, despite her marital problems.

But she shunned the red carpet ahead of the show and stayed in her dressing room all night.

After arriving on stage to a standing ovation and the biggest cheer of the night, she belted out the lyrics 'We've got to fight for this love'.

المملكة تحصد 5 جوائز في مهرجان الخليج للإذاعة والتلفزيون..

«غشمشم» يتقاسم الجائزة الفضية مع «طاش 16».. و«الساكنات في قلوبنا»و«صدى الملاعب» و«في المرمى» يحلقون عالياً

    اختتمت مساء أمس الأول فعاليات مهرجان الخليج للإذاعة والتلفزيون الحادي عشر بحضور الشيخ راشد بن عبد الرحمن آل خليفة الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة الإذاعة والتلفزيون بمملكة البحرين نائب رئيس المهرجان، والدكتور عبدالله بن سعيد أبو راس مدير عام جهاز إذاعة وتلفزيون الخليج أمين عام المهرجان، ونخبة من الإعلاميين والفنانين الخليجيين والعرب.

بدئ حفل الختام بأوبريت غنائي شارك به عدد من الفنانين من مملكة البحرين استعرضوا أهم ملامح الانجازات في دول مجلس التعاون، وجمهورية اليمن الشقيقة, وقد تفاعل الحضور بشكل لافت مع الفنانين والفنانات على خشبة المسرح وصفقوا للدول المتغنى بها في الأوبريت, وزاد من جمال الحفل الحضور المبهر للفنانة الأردنية ديانا كرزون والتي قدمت مجموعة رائعة من أغانيها.

بعد ذلك ألقى الأستاذ محمد عبدالله رئيس لجنة التحكيم، كلمة شكر فيها زملاءه المحكمين الذين بذلوا جهدهم في تحكيم المسابقات في المهرجان وشكر القائمين عليه وبارك مقدما للفائزين, وقد تميز الحفل في هذه الدورة بتكليف رؤساء الوفود المشاركة بالقيام بتكريم الفائزين, ثم قام معالي الشيخ راشد ال خليفة والدكتور عبدالله أبو راس بتقديم الدروع التكريمية للمشاركين في المهرجان، حيث تم تكريم الفنانة ديانا كرزون، والفنانة سمية الخشاب والأستاذة عائشة عبداللطيف, كما تم تكريم شركة روتانا ممثلة بالأستاذ تركي الشبانه لمشاركة روتانا الفاعل في هذه الدورة من المهرجان.

وقد حصدت المملكة العربية السعودية ممثلة في التلفزيون والإذاعة 5 جوائز 3 منها ذهبية، واثنتين فضيتين وهي: الجائزة الذهبية لمسابقة برامج الدراما الاجتماعية الإذاعية للهيئات الأعضاء ببرنامج "سالفة فريق", والجائزة الذهبية لمسابقة برامج الأطفال التلفزيونية للهيئات الأعضاء ببرنامج "إبداعات", والجائزة الذهبية لمسابقة البرامج الرياضية التلفزيونية للهيئات الأعضاء وفاز بها برنامج "الحصاد", والجائزة الفضية لمسابقة البرامج الحوارية الإذاعية للهيئات الأعضاء, ببرنامج "فضاءات عربية", والجائزة الفضية لمسابقة برامج الأسرة الإذاعية للهيئات الأعضاء ببرنامج "نصف المجتمع".

وعلى صعيد مسابقات مؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية حققت المؤسسات والقنوات السعودية حضورا لافتا في حصد الجوائز، حيث نافس بقوة هذا العام المسلسل الكوميدي غشمشم 4 من مؤسسة فن هزار للإنتاج الصوتي المرئي والذي حصد الجائزة الفضية مناصفة مع المسلسل الكوميدي الأكثر شعبية طاش 16 من قناة الشرق الأوسط mbc, كما حققت شركة الصدف للإنتاج المرئي والصوتي الجائزة الفضية لمسابقة برامج الدراما الاجتماعية التلفزيونية لشركات ومؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية وفاز بها مسلسل "الساكنات في قلوبنا", وحققت الفنانة أروى من خلال برنامج "آخر من يعلم" الجائزة الذهبية لمسابقة برامج المنوعات التلفزيونية لشركات ومؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية والذي قدمته قناة الشرق الأوسط mbc, والجائزة الفضية لمسابقة برامج المنوعات التلفزيونية لشركات ومؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية وفاز بها مناصفة كل من: برنامج القوة العاشرة, من قناة الشرق الأوسط mbc وبرنامج D.Tupe, من قناة الرأي الكويتية, والجائزة الذهبية لمسابقة البرامج الاقتصادية التلفزيونية وفاز بها برنامج "في الموقع" من قناة العربية والجائزة الفضية لمسابقة برامج الأطفال التلفزيونية لشركات ومؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية وفاز بها برنامج "عيش سفاري" من قناة الشرق الأوسط mbc, والجائزة الذهبية لمسابقة البرامج الرياضية التلفزيونية لشركات ومؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية وفاز بها برنامج "صدى الملاعب" من قناة الشرق الأوسط mbc ,والجائزة الفضية لمسابقة البرامج الرياضية التلفزيونية لشركات ومؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية وفاز بها برنامج "في المرمى" من قناة العربية, والجائزة الذهبية لمسابقة البرامج الثقافية والتوعوية التلفزيونية لشركات ومؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية وفاز بها مناصفة كل من: برنامج "روافد" من قناة العربية وبرنامج "حلم الغد" من مؤسسة الفداء للإنتاج الإعلامي من السودان, والجائزة الذهبية لمسابقة البرامج الحوارية التلفزيونية لشركات ومؤسسات الإنتاج الخليجية والعربية وفاز بها برنامج "إضاءات" من قناة العربية.

كترينا كيف تحصل على وسام ايكسيليس للتميز

    حصلت نجمة السينما الهندية (بوليود) الشهيرة كترينا كيف على وسام " ايكسيليس" لتمثيلها المميز في السينما الهندية، وذلك خلال مناسبة عقدتها شركة أزياء تجارية بالهند. وكشفت مجموعة "ا.ر.واي" الإخبارية الباكستانية الناطقة باللغة الأردية بأن كترينا كيف حصلت على وسام "ايكسيليس" في اجتماع للشركة في مدينة مومباي بحضور عدد كبير من نجوم السينما والشخصيات البارزة الهندية. وأفادت "كانت كترينا من أبرز ممثلات السينما الهندية لعام 2009م وقد حصلت على لقب أجمل جميلات قارة آسيا وكانت في المرتبة الأولى في التمثيل في السينما الهندية.
