My Story
08 October, 2008

Honestly I want to  burst into crying on the shoulder of my Blog as what I faced show no sense of fairness . I really want to share with you my story with everyone to find justice.

After lots of thinking I decided to bring a Pilipino maid to help me with the household , as I ‘m a working mother of 2 and it will be a good idea to have someone around to help . I went to thde Agency Four  months ago and paid Jordanian Dinars Two Thousands and Fifty ( JD 2050) the expenses to bring the maid from her country and her residency . after a month she arrived  we prepared for her bedroom and her closet and everything that she will feel comfortable. Every day the four of us Me My husband and  my two  kids would leave the house for work and schools and leave her alone cleaning a small house which means it will take only 2 hrs of normal cleaning each day. When we come back at 14:30 we eat the food I used to prepare the day before and sit with the kids to play and study which leave her with not so much work as well especially that she has a schedule I prepared for her and she doesn’t have to wash any dishes because she has a dishwasher to do this job By nine at night she will be in bed waking up at 6:00 next morning to resume her routine.

To make the long story short one day which was 04/10/2008 the maid told me she wants to go back to the agency I was really surprised as she was never been mistreated beaten or anything especially that me and my husband were always treating her respectfully and have never  left the kids with her we have never left the house without taking the kids with us. Anyway While I was calling my husband to tell him that she prepared her stuff she was near the door opened it and just wanted to run away I tried stupidly to keep her she pushed me scratched my hand and she just ran away . Thank God nothing happened to me as I’m 2 months pregnant with my third baby. while my husband Shadi was hearing everything on the phone he came running and he stopped her in the street and took her to the agency.

Here Goes the story , I told my part of the story and it was her turn she told them that there was nothing wrong I just don’t want to work I want to change and she didn’t deny pushing me or scratching me . here goes the problem we wanted to bring another one even though I don’t trust them anymore , the agency told us we have to pay extra 1150 to bring a new one I thought oh My god she is the one who left and I can’t bring her back because I’m afraid and above all I have to pay extra money again . we discussed it me and my husband we decided not to bring anyone and take our money back but to our surprise the agency the agency refused to give us any money now until one month that he see if this maid is going to work or not and if he ‘s going to give us money he will give us barely so little and he will not cancel her residency until one year has passed which means he will make her work for his own benefit

We went to the ministry of labor to fight for our right but for our surprise they told us that the agency has nothing to do with this and they should not help  us and all what we can do is taking her to the police station and then after a month the police station will contact us and the they will tell us to get her back to Philippines which means we have to pay again her ticket.

Can you tell me what’s this? Can anyone tell me or explain to me what’s going on? I ‘m a pregnant woman who was pushed scratched infront of the eyes of my kids lost so much money and no one can do anything for me . How the hell our law justify a guilty foreigner and doesn’t give me my right.
