Olmert a Victim of Peace
The on going scandal in Israel has put Olmert on the path of self destruction and will probably send him to the dust bin of history; the real question is why was this scandal saved for a rainy day?
As you know Israel has made a commitment to make peace with the Palestine by the end of the year maybe this scandal was made public to save face for Israel to avoid a peace excepted of it by the end of the year.
On the other front the Syrian-Israeli peace was moving like a run away train to an astonished world, they were close to a real peace.
The scandal engulfing the prime minister was an insurance policy stashed away along time ago for a rainy day. This scandal was made to pull Israel in a save face situation if peace ever becomes a reality now we have to wait for the dust to settle Bush well be in Crawford driving his truck he’s been called a windshield cowboy he has fear of horses, The Palestinian will still be dyeing and peace will be a pipe dream of missed opportunities .
Will Israel be ready to put its armor down and survive the withdrawals of 60 years of a state of war? Israel will have to make a decision wither to make direct peace with the neighboring populations or will adapt the Egyptian style peace accord, where peace is made with the dictatorship and the general population is ignored.
The Mideast has a lot of potential and with a just peace Israel could be the key to an economically explosive Mideast that will empower the whole reign and help elevate the poverty stricken nations.
Maybe I am a dreamer but to Israel I ask enough is enough lets give our children a chance to live in an environment of peace and harmony. A famous man once said “we could live together as brothers or perish as fools”
