A Betrayal of Trust
May/16/2008
A famous saying by an American named Benjamin Franklin said “A people who compromise freedom for securities deserve neither”. In the Arab World we have neither freedom nor security; it goes alone the line of insanity when governments forfeit their national security to please a friend who at the same time is arming your enemy and empowering them to threatening your well being.
The American policy in the Mideast region is either border line crazy or sheer wisdom.
In the last 5 years America has defeated the Taliban an arch enemy of Iran and with help from all neighbors in the region destroyed Iraq and gave it to the Iranian shia clients with the same breath America is telling us of the danger of Iran. Someone call a mental hospital to put me in a stray jacket I can no longer foresee the wisdom of such a policy.
The Sunni Arab governments have played a big role in strengthen their enemy and endangering their national security to please Americas strange policy. With Iran coming out the biggest winner in the debacle that killed and weakened two birds with one stone, first Iraq Iran’s historical enemy was destroyed and America who was a potential enemy is bogged down in a black hole in Iraq that has consumed Americas men, machinery and is depleting their treasury .
A person with a sound mind asks the question do this government have think tanks or do they see the world with time keeping same eyes we do. America’s policy in the reign has been to strengthen the non-Arab countries such as Turkey, Israel and Iran and leave the 350 million Arabs at the mercy of the non-Arab neighbor s and at the same America as the sole protector of these countries , Where America will be able to exert financial and hegemony over them.
These days some of the Arab countries are a flush with oil money from the skyrocketing prices, While ate the same time the non oil producing Arab countries are drowning in poverty and some are on the verge of failing as viable states , such as Yemen ,Sudan, Somalia whish are engulfed in internal strife.
Since these countries are absolute Monarchy and repressive dictatorship the people have no say in the failed policy of their countries and they can only be bystanders.
The betrayal of their security by an incompetent leadership that lives day to day and has no vision for the future is understandably bleak. The general public has put their trust in the hand of those who hold power and the leadership has gambled that trust by outsourcing their national security to others.
