Hizbullah for destruction of Israel

munaeem | 23 February, 2008 04:10

According to news report the Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrullah has vowed for the destruction of Israel and has also said that it was destined to disappear.

I think that Israel is a hard reality which the leaders of the Arab World must realize. They must also realize that they lack the power to undo Israel. Israel has unmatched firepower and has the open backing of the United States. It is a wishful thinking that Israel is destined to disappear. I do not see any such thing even in the remote future.

It would be better to find out ways of peaceful co-existance. I do not mean to say that I support Israel in whatever it is doing. I want the Muslim world to be united. Unity is their only option for survival in the present world.

“Are we witnessing a media freedom backslide in Jordan? For the past couple years or so, Jordan has been making baby steps towards safeguarding the freedom of the press, one was the recent scrapping of an article that imprisoned journalists. However, from what I read this week, things are not looking good as it seems the kingdom is regressing to its earlier status of muzzling press freedoms.I will try not to jump to conclusions quickly and point out that the Jordanian government has denied banning the newspaper,” writes Jordanian blogger Natasha Tynes on the World Press Freedom Day.

Queen Rania urges Muslims to reject extremism

Via The Daily Start, Lebanon : Queen Rania urges Muslims to reject extremism

Jordan's Queen Rania on Sunday said Muslims must recognize that much of the terror in recent years has been committed in the name of Islam if they want to be taken seriously by the West.

We are right to deplore Islamophobia and the branding of Muslims as terrorists.

We must face up to the horrible truth that many of the worst terrorist attacks in recent years have been committed by people who claim to be acting in the name of Islam.

It is hard to insist the West should embrace us as neighbors in the global village when across the Muslim world we are at war with ourselves, brother against brother - in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan.

My Queen , God bless you.

We Muslims are responsible for this menace. And We have to correct it without the help of non-Muslims.

The cause of revolt of  our youth is poverty and oppression. Muslims leaders have  proved to be ruthless and oppressive. They have to change their attitude.

I appreciated King Abdullah's action, when he ordered the release of political prisoners.

I request you to help the poor Muslim brothers and sisters around the world.

My blood boils , when I see my Somaili sisters living in camps. Arabs have wealth, they should share it with their Muslims brothers and sisters. This will help in stabilizing our society.

Regards.

The Jordan Summit: where's the king?

munaeem | 01 December, 2006 20:42

One of the predictably annoying things about Jordanian newspapers is that the King's picture is almost always on the front page.  Which makes this cover photo from the relatively liberal newspaper al-Ghad particularly striking: (More)
