Keyboard Tweaker is a lightweight software that allows you to assign shortcut keyboard to programs on your computer. This freeware runs silently in the background without disrupting your other processes.

Features of Keyboard Tweaker:

  1. It is a completely free software to download. It is compatible with most Microsoft Operating Systems.
  2. Keyboard Tweaker’s interface already has a set of preconfigured keyboard shortcuts that you can use to access your programs from.
  3. You can also assign new shortcut keys for the programs that you want to open and delete them if you later decide not to have them.
  4. You can assign the shortcut to any program you want on your computer or you can also assign webpages as your shortcut too.
  5. In case you want to remove all the shortcuts you’ve assigned, just click on ‘Reset All To Defaults‘ in the Hotkeys drop down button in the menu bar to erase the changes and have only the preconfigured keyboard shortcuts as shown in the screenshot below.

How do I use Keyboard Tweaker?

Keyboard Tweaker is a really simple tool to use. Using Keyboard Tweaker, you can assign your keyboard shortcuts in minutes. Just follow these steps.

  1. Download and extract the zip file on to your computer. Then run the tool.
  2. Now by selecting Alt, Ctrl or Shift (any of them) and select a key from your keyboard on the dropdown list to set a new hotkey.
  3. Now click on ‘Browse‘ to select the file that you want to open with your shortcut key. Then click on ‘Apply‘ to assign the new hotkey.

  4. Hit ‘Test‘ to check out whether your assigned shortcut key is functioning properly. A window then shows up saying ‘Execution OK‘ which confirms that your shortcut key is opening the file that you have assigned it to open.

  5. You’re now done assigning a shortcut key. Assign more shortcut keys by following the same instructions given above.

This is a really useful tool to use for anyone who wants to ease out their computer usage by assigning shortcuts on the keyboard.
