Additional info : "this was an afghan army base which was 5-7km away from the 3rd largest american base in afghanistan (as per the spokesman in the video).
they were in all 17 mujahid who split into 4 groups of which 3 were assigned approx 11/5 and 6 mortar shells from 3 different direction to bombard this afghan base and the 4th unit was an observer on a hill overrloking the base to guide the 3 groups on their accuracy and fine tuning their mortar ranges to hit the base more accurately.
of the 21 shells (4 landed outside the base) while 17 hit the 2 towers and inside of the base.
approx 2 units withdrew immediately after finishing their quota of mortars while the 3rd took approx 30 minutes and inspite of counter artiellety persisted on completing all their shells accurately hitting the base.
they had no casualty and withdrew while 1 unit waited till nightfall to record american helicopters taking the bodies of the dead afghans and the injured.
approx 12 soldiers of ana died and more then 20 were injured in the attack on the ana base in paktika..this attack took place on 14 or 17th of nov 2007" source link
