NBA team signs Stampede player to 10-day contract
The Golden State Warriors have signed Idaho Stampede forward Jermareo Davidson to a 10-dayNBA contract.
Davidson was the Stampede’s first pick in the 2008-09 NBA Development League Draft. The 6-10 forward from Alabama is averaging 16.1 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.5Shox Disobey blocks in 15 games with Idaho. He leads the league in double-doubles this season with 10.
"I am thrilled for Jermareo," Stampede coach Bryan Gates said. "He really has worked hard this season and his numbers show that. This is what the NBA Development Shox R4League is all about."
This is the Stampede’s first NBA call-up this season. Davidson travels to Utah with the Warriors for their game tonight against the Jazz.
The Stampede are also in Utah for the 2009 NBA Development League Showcase. They play the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
