Women and marriage in Jordan

Can you believe that the average age for marriage in Jordan is 29.3 for women and 25.9 for men!!!!  According to the دائرة الإحصاءات العامة The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Department of Statistics (DOS) 26/09/2006, so all you Jordanian ladies who think that you are getting older and you are not getting married soon enough, think again, 29.3 is the age to get married in Jordan.I have no idea why people think all men and women must get married, they live a life of hope of finding the perfect man/women, they think that by getting married all their hopes and dreams will be true and all their fears will go away… well, think again.I have been married for 4 years now, I got married at 25 which was considered young among family and friend, however now that I look back at my decision I think I made the right one, marriage is right for me, it is the best case for my personality and for who I am, and the person I ended up with is the best for me, however this does not mean that life is all pink and made of m&m's J*I come back form work tired and consumed, I need to unwind so I change as quickly as possible and I throw my self on the couch in front of TV, when I said I change as quickly as possible I meant I take off my clothes and kick them away and where they land is not my problem (for now)She comes home from work tired and consumed; she needs to unwind so she starts organizing the things lying around the house (My clothes), she starts nagging that I never work enough in the house and that we both work and that.. nanananananananOf course this will end up with a fight that we might use massive destruction weapons! So if you are a women, 26 old, for God sake get a life and enjoy it, stop have getting marriage plan as a sole source of purpose in your life and start enjoying the great things in life that you will soon let go (if and when you get married), enjoy being alone doing what you want and when you want it, unwind the way you want and take off your clothes when and wherever you want (preferably not in front of open windows, come on we are in Jordan J )

i think this is real funny. i didn't know even husbands and wives use "weapons of mass destruction".
i would like to make one myself, so i can use them too, when i argue with my husband, if i get married in the future. hahaha!
=)

Hey Pal.
I agree with you 1000% on this one. Its not just a Jordanian Phenomenon... No sir ... its a universal thing. Before marriage everyone and everything seems to be rosy and peachy ... The only purpose in life seems to be getting married and having that never ending sex marathon with the only woman you will love for the rest of your life. But a year down the line all you end up is with grief ... sadness ... absurdaties ... yellings and screamings and emotional blackmails and specially what you pointed out rightly which is also Universal in its own self ... {YOU DO NOT DO ANY AMOUNT OF WORK AROUND THE HOUSE...YOU DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I SAY... YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU USED TO BE ... BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH)... NEVER ENDING Story...

So you guys and gals who are still not married ... take it as a blessing in disguise. Marriage is not what it seems like from the outside. What you have right now is paradise compared to what a married person has to go through.

Theres never enough time for anything including romance nor for vacations. Theres never enough money and that is always a MINE FIELD which is just there to blow up.

Everything becomes a routine.

And by the time you get some stability in your life you find out that you are too old and your components are not even working properly. Rusted and all...

Soon after that you are dead. So thats life.

I hope I was clear.
