Another Voice

Just another voice, coming from an Israeli citizen, for those of you who wish to know your neighbors better. I on my side shall be glad to get acquainted with you.

Some of you may find it interesting, others may not. In any case the opinions, thoughts and beliefs expressed in this blog are mine and only mine, and represent no other body, government, organization, etc.

May we all have a fruitefull dialog. Questions are always welcomed.

Omer

Another Voice - a short introduction

another.voice | 02 March, 2008 21:52

First of all, allow me to introduce myself:

My name is Omer (in Hebrew this means a sheaf, bundle of grain). I’m 36, married + 4, living in a small village on the northern part of Israel. I’m into hi-tech, making a living as a SW Engineer leading a SW development team in one of northern Israel’s factories.

Oh yes, did I forget to mention I’m Jewish? J

I came across this site by incident – nothing planned. Simply run a short search in Google looking for news from the Arab world in English.

Why? Curiosity I guess. After 36 years in the Middle East isn’t time you meet the neighbors? So far, judging the news, past experience hasn’t been so pleasant …

Then of course there’s the question of why open a blog here? For surely with all the ongoing in Gaza this is not a good timing.

Answer is simple: to share and learn. To share with you the everyday life of an Israeli citizen, and to learn from you about the Arab world.

I wish us all a fruitful dialog in these sad days. At "the end of the day", I hope it is clear to all of us that people are people - everywhere. Some are smart, some are stupid, some are good and some are evil, but at down at the bottom root, we're all just ordinary humans.
