TENT CITY OR STENCH CITY – Part IV: Before, During, and After……

A University Student’s Presentation, Questions and Answers, Summary, and Conclusion:

Tent City in Downtown Beirut – Riad El-Solh and Debbas Squares

Opposition Demanded Resignation of Government

Campers Set Up Camps and Camped in Down-Town Beirut – Riad El-Solh / Debbas Squares

Opposition Members and Supporters set up an Eye-sore Nose-sore Nerve-Sore Income-Sore Tent-City in the heart of Beirut; bleeding it and the rest of the country to death.

Tents had been erected along along three main roads leading to the Grand Serail, in addition to Riad El-Solh and Debbas Square – Read: 728 / 729 / 730

Hotel, Restaurant, Night-Club, café, and snack-bar owners and managers, business-men and women, and shop-owners – including customers and clients, and the average citizens – complained about the campers, because they prevented one side from doing business and making money, and the other side from going out at night and having fun or spending a quiet evening either having dinner in a restaurant or strolling and looking at the sights…

Most, if not all, of the staff, employees, waiters, waitresses, shop-assistants, workers, sweepers, cleaners, Etc, either could not get to work or found it very difficult to.

What the opposition did hurt only Lebanon’s Tourism and Trade and its economy – one side could not do business, and the other side could not earn a living – and the average citizens. Not fewer than 75 restaurants and coffee shops were closed down, and not fewer than 2,700 people became redundant

The Opposition demanded the resignation of the government because they claimed it was illegal and unconstitutional, and not a National Unity Government. The Prime Minister did nothing about it because he claimed his government was legal and constitutional and he had the majority. The Government did not care.

The campers were mostly Syrian tradesmen and workers, and the homeless, jobless, and aimless refugees who escaped from the south during the 12th July 2006 Fallacy Fiasco Folly and Madness. They were actually paid to do it.

The Secretary General of the Arab League tried to solve the problem. He had several talks with Leaders of the opposition, and the Prime Minister and his team.

Meanwhile, the Eye-sore Nose-sore Nerve-sore Income-sore Tent-City made Downtown BeirutRiad El-Solh and Debbas Squares – look like refugee camps in Darfur, in the Sudan.

1: Why did the opposition demand the resignation of the Government?

2: What did the prime minister do about it, and why?

3: Did it hurt or have any effect on the Government?

4: Who felt the pinch most?

5: Why did the owners, managers, employees, workers, Etc, complain?

6: Who were the campers/protesters?

7: How did the campers feel and think about it?

8: How did the average citizens feel and think about it?

9: Were the campers paid to sit-in or sleep in – or even better still, to live in?

10: Were the opposition leaders – president, speaker, ministers, and party leaders, Etc, still collecting their salaries from the illegal and unconstitutional government?

We, the students in my class at the university, were given an assignment to cover and discover the true story about the Tent-City in the heart of Beirut, and the cause and effect.

We were divided into groups. There were three of us in our group and each of us had to interview ten Lebanese citizens – five campers, and five average citizens, if possible – and we were very sad and upset by their responses.

The campers were only doing what they were told and paid to do, and actually resented our questions, and some of them even threatened us and told us to go away or else; and the average citizens did not care much about what went on or what the outcome might be. They were too busy attending to their daily chores and trying to survive – mouths to feed, bodies to clothe, rents, taxes, bills, fees, and dues to pay – but they were courteous enough to stop, listen to us, and answer our questions; although we did not learn much from their answers.

The most important fact we gathered was: the possibility that the Lebanese Leaders and Politicians – both 14th and 8th March Football-Teams – would agree and compromise, and elect a new president, and the Lebanese people’s hopes and trust in them, was very low indeed; so it must have come as a surprise – if not a shock – when they did.

Lebanon’s Leaders and Politicians finally agreed and compromised, but only to share the cheese, and not for the good of the country or the interests or welfare of the Lebanese people; and yet they still worship and follow individuals, and associate them with their country

Life’s problems can be summed up in four stages or phrases: going through, getting over, learning from, and moving on

The Lebanese people are always going through, always getting over, and always moving on to the next even much worse problem; but never learning from. Also, they worship and follow individuals, and associate them with their country.

In the end, and after all had been said and done, the average citizens found themselves back to square one, and still in the same soup of no government, no rule of law, no courts, and no peace or stability, Etc; and no electricity or water in their homes, unless they pay for them twice, and even thrice – once from the electric company, twice from generators; and once from the water company, twice from water-delivery tankers, and thrice for bottled potable water…

And so it is…and so it goes……

There is no such thing as let’s stay or keep out of politics, or let’s not talk politics, or no politics, please. One might as well – or one had better – say let’s stay or keep out of religion, or let’s not talk religion, or no religion, please. Or even much better still, let’s do without money, or let’s not talk money, or no money, please; because no money, no honey.

They say, and it is true, that money is the root of all evil, but they forget that evil is the offspring of Religion and Politics – a marriage made in one Horse-shit, Heaven, and consummated in the other Horse-shit, Hell; and both, like God and Satan, are figments of Human-Ape’s imagination, born of his angst – in order to have one, or the other – or both – to blame for its powerful tendency to revert to its large-monkey ancestry.

No Religion and Politics = no Divide and Rule…or in the case of the Lebanese, no Divide and Destroy. All issues are political and religious issues, and politics and religion themselves are a mass of elaborate lies, evasions, myths, hoaxes, fallacies, farces, follies, hatred, greed, malice, suspicion, maneuvers, intrigues, hypocrisies, deceits, treachery, betrayal, paranoia, and schizophrenia…Et Al…Read: 680 and 562

TENT CITY OR STENCH CITY – Part III: From Tent City to Stench City to Stinking Curse and Burden

Gleaned from various sources

December 2007

Hundreds of opposition supporters rallied in downtown Beirut on Saturday 1st December 2007 to mark the first anniversary of the Hezballah-led sit-in that sent 2,700 people out of jobs and forced the closure of 75 restaurants and coffee shops. The protestors gathered in Riad El-Solh Square where the opposition, supported by Syria and Iran, had maintained a tent city outside the offices of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. They vowed to maintain their tent city for years if need be, to force the resignation of Siniora's majority government. The demonstrators waved Lebanese flags as well as the banners of Hezballah, Amal, the FPM, the SSNP, and a number of other pro-Iran-Syria parties

The sit-in did not achieve anything, but its devastating damages were clear to all of Lebanon, the Lebanese – and the economy – and not only on Beirut. Ironically, the so called opposition refused to budge, linking the removal of the tents to the resignation of the government or the election of a consensus president.

The whole world ought to be fully aware that, based on all norms and criteria, the so-called Lebanese opposition that is led by Hezballah represent nothing that is Lebanese. Hezballah is an Iranian-Syrian army stationed in Lebanon, no more, no less.

The opposition coalition that revolves around Hezballah had one and only one paramount objective, and that was to topple the Lebanese multicultural, parliamentary, democratic, peaceful and free regime in a bid to install a religious state replicate of the Iranian Mullah’s republic in its place, and by all means – more foul than fair

In this context it is worth mentioning that the festivities held in Downtown-Beirut under the one-year celebration of the opposition sit-in protest tag was nothing but an overt declaration of an on-going nasty war against Lebanon and the Lebanese people. The festivities were in fact a set of atheist rituals in which the Iran-Syria-made leaders and politicians assumed the role of heretic priests. During the celebrations, these machineries, joined by other orphans of the Syrian regime and its leftovers, offered Lebanon and the Lebanese people as sacrifices to the Syrian/Iranian Dragon represented by Hezballah – in cold blood.

The sit-in celebration was held a few hundred meters from the Beirut bay that was historically known as Saint George’s Bay. The well known Lebanese Myth states that a ferocious dragon blockaded the city of Beirut and, as the price of sparing them, he forced their King to offer child-sacrifices to him, daily.

The short-sighted Fool-King accepted the Dragon's conditions under the false belief that he, his family, and the royal community shall be safe. He started offering the children of the city as sacrifices to the dragon until all his kingdom's children had disappeared. Finally, the King was forced to surrender his own daughter as the sacrificial lamb. The Myth goes on to say that Saint George saved the king's daughter by fighting and killing the Dragon who would have devoured all the city's citizens. Daniel: George, not of the jungle, took his time, didn’t he? And when he finally decided to turn up, it was only to save the Fool-King’s brat-bitch daughter!

One wonders how similar were the traumatic unfolding events in Lebanon that the axis-of-evil Syria and Iran had instigated and, at the same time, how weak, confused, and selfish were the Lebanese leaders and politicians who vehemently tailored their stances and platforms to suit their personal agendas and ambitions, and not those of the country and its people. How evil were those leaders and politicians whose conduct was motivated by hatred, stupidity, grudges, inferiority complexes, and the lack of tolerance; and how destructive and disruptive to the country's peace, stability, welfare, and democracy were those that abandoned their humanity and patriotism, and surrendered submissively to instincts, delusions, greed, vanity and egocentricity

The Syrian army was forced to withdraw from Lebanon in 2005, by the Lebanese people and the international community. But during its occupation-influence-interference-era, Syria, in full conspiracy and cooperation with Iran, had erected an oppressive and criminal Lebanese governance, and formed the Hezballah-Amal militia. Two years after the supposed and so-called liberation from Syria, the Lebanese people were still struggling to re-build a free and democratic Lebanon, and to contain the threats of Hezballah.

The Lebanese governance that had been masterminded by Syria and Iran was portrayed very well and clearly by that blatant and shameless display…

TENT CITY OR STENCH CITY – Part II: From Tent City to Stench City to Stinking Curse and Burden

Gleaned from various sources

August 2007

In the beginning, most opposition supporters viewed the Tent City purely as an action aimed at toppling the government, and separate from the events that followed, but although Hezballah still enjoyed broad support within the Shiite community, many of its supporters, at the time, had begun to ask questions about the it, its objectives, and its relationship with other events taking place in Lebanon.

A 23-year-old student from Beirut’s southern suburbs and his friends had stopped going to the sit-in because they had begun to feel it was not leading anywhere. They complained that the Tent City was not entertaining anymore, and that when the sit-in first began, they had the will and the enthusiasm to go there every day, as they were convinced that the Siniora government would certainly give in to their demands soon, but, it seemed, more than seven months into the downtown protest, government supporters were no longer the only citizens questioning the camp’s worth and achievements.

A 35-year-old father from the South said he had lost the motivation, and that his participation was not making a difference. He also said that everybody knew the sit-in was not working, and that it was only still there because taking it out would mean a great defeat for the opposition, especially Hezballah and the Aounis, who were the most determined parties.

A 40-year-old shop owner from the South said that he had initially heeded Nasrallah’s call because it was the least he could do to express his gratitude to Hezballah and its leader. Hezballah had sacrificed lives limbs and properties – Daniel: mostly Lebanese – so how could he sit back and do nothing. However, as the sit-in dragged on and on with little results on the government but much on the average citizens – including even those among the campers - he realised that achieving its objective was going to take much longer than he had estimated, and that he couldn’t leave his shop much longer. How would he survive? Camping and Politics were not going to put food on his family’s table nor pay for his children’s education.

He was by no means alone in his decision to go downtown out of a sense of duty. Employees at schools, hospitals, and social organisations in Hezballah-land also felt they had to participate in the demonstration, especially in the beginning. One teacher explained that he had been teaching at the Al-Mahdi School for years, and when his employer asked him to be part of an organised movement that relied on the presence of their supporters, he couldn’t say no. He said he no longer camped out downtown but tried to show-up from time to time as a sign of allegiance and solidarity. Daniel: Teaching what at the Al-Mahdi School?

Walking through the Stench City, the absence of civilians was conspicuous. Tents had been erected along three main roads leading to the Grand Serail, in addition to Riad El-Solh and Debbas Square. Opposition parties were divided within the camp with FPM tents set up in the Debbas Square and Riad El-Solh divided between Hezballah and Amal. The camp was heavily guarded, with numerous checkpoints and security personnel on constant patrol. Clusters of men were scattered throughout the area – only a few dozen out of the thousands of original protesters

To interview the remaining protesters inside the Stench City, one required permission from the Hezballah press office in Dahiyeh. A Hezballah security member explained that one could only interview civilians, who were usually there after 7:00 pm. That was already obvious to any visitor: The full-time inhabitants of the camp at the time in August 2007 were almost exclusively party members. Civilian supporters could pass by in the evenings or at weekends, but they had long since packed up and gone home.

Missing, also, were the cafes and carts that had mushroomed around the camp during the first few months of the sit-in. A café owner who lived in Dahiyeh said that business was brisk for the first few months, so he moved his 100 Hookahs to the camp, and he made a lot of money. But then, people gradually stopped coming; first families and women, then, young men. The only people who kept on showing up were Hezballah and Amal permanent members, who were paid to be there – it was their job. As his initially brisk business in the camp slowed down to a trickle, he decided to return to his café in Dahiyeh.

Despite the dramatic decrease in participation over the months, Al-Manar TV still broadcast a live show from the camp every evening at 7:00 pm. The programme included speeches and interviews, and shots of protesters gathered in small groups. However, Al-Manar’s attempts to zoom in on protesters to project a better image of the state of the camp failed to convince viewers that people were still eager and committed.

A year after the July war, the Stench City had failed to achieve any of its objectives other than exacerbating the political deadlock in Lebanon further and causing immeasurable damage to an already-dire economic situation. The strain had begun to show and many, including the opposition supporters, had begun to ask questions on the worth and achievements of the sit-in and the negative impact it was having on their lives.

A taxi driver from the South said he was still a Hezballah supporter and that he believed in their cause, but he also wanted to have a decent life without having to worry about another war. He said the South had been through many wars, occupations, and invasions. He thought they deserved a break.

The thing that worried and annoyed everybody the most – from opposition and government supporters to neutrals and other – was: The very people who were responsible for the eye-sore, nose-sore, nerve-sore, and income-sore Tent City, were the same ones who demanded to be in power! What a sad joke, and what a funny irony!

Did anybody notice that, eight months later, Syrian workers were the only people who lived in the tents? They were the civilians who were always there after 7:00 pm. That should have been raised and exposed to the public. What an end to a strategy by the master-planner of crisesMichael Aoun – and his MoU partners-in-crime! How could the Syrian workers refuse such an offer? Rent-free tents and no electricity or water bills to pay, and they were actually paid for the mal-service they provided at night! You can bet your last silver buffalo nickel that the electric and water companies had their orders: No electricity or water cuts, or else! All the Lebanese saw – except the Hezballah, Amal, Aoun, and Marada supporters – the number of Syrian tradesmen and workers heading for Riad El-Solh square at night, on their way home – Home Sweet Home? No! Tent Stench Tent!

Daniel: Did anybody think for a moment where those scumbag shit-head schmuck-swine were relieving themselves – in decent and polite language: shitting and pissing? My wife and I used to take our children to the beach until, one fine Sunday afternoon, we saw where the Syrians relieved themselves – where they shat and pissed. We haven’t been to a beach in decades!

The reasons behind keeping the insult, the offence, the hindrance, and the stench of the 8th March carnal carnival up till then and on were: If the sit-in withdrew before the Siniora Government gave up, it would mean a big defeat for the Divine Party Hezballah. Choosing the heart of the Lebanese economy, Downtown Beirut, was part of the Syrian-Iranian strategic plans begun with the 2006 war, and continued by other moves to weaken Lebanon and the Lebanese economy, and to force the Lebanese government into decisions they didn’t want. Turning the camps in Downtown Beirut into Restricted Areas also meant a step forward for Hezballah in case the internal situation got worse. Hezballah knew very well that such moves would not lead to the resignation of the Siniora government; it was a phase in their ambition to take over and control the whole country…upon orders from/by Iran and Syria

TENT CITY OR STENCH CITY – Part I: From Tent City to Stench City to Stinking Curse and Burden

Gleaned from various sources

December 2006

It all began as a Tent-City Protest against the government; it became a Stench-City Burden on Beirut, Lebanon, and the Lebanese – an eye-sore, nose-sore, nerve-sore, and income-sore blot and a boil  in the heart of the Capital…bleeding her and the rest of the country to death

Originally set up in conjunction with a huge protest on 1st December 2006, the Opposition Camp in downtown Beirut was dominated by Hassan Nasrallah’s Hezballah,  Nabih Berri’s Amal, and Michael Aoun’s Christian FPM. Daniel: So that was what the Memorandum of Understanding between Nasrallah and Aoun was all about; or one of its purposes and results?

In the beginning, it attracted a large number of opposition supporters, who believed that “the divine victory” they claimed to have achieved during the 2006 summer war could be used as a tool to topple the Siniora government. Hezballah called upon opposition members to join them in a movement aimed at bringing about “a national unity government”Daniel: ignoring the fact that the government, at the time, had been a national unity government until six ministers from the opposition resigned in late November…but continued to collect their salaries regularly.

In a speech broadcast on Al-Manar TV channel, Hassan Nasrallah articulated the goals of the protest. He said that they had called before and called again for the formation of a national unity government because they wanted to preserve and protect Lebanon`s independence and sovereignty, prevent Lebanon from falling under any foreign tutelage, strengthen the foundations of security, stability and civil peace, and to cooperate in addressing the suffocating social and economic crisis…join forces and unite efforts…

Daniel: And all that could be achieved by the president and the speaker, and opposition ministers deserting their posts and setting up a Tent City in the heart of Beirut!? Such mad math and loco logic! Also, did ‘any foreign tutelage’ include Iranian and Syrian tutelage?

I ask you!

727: THE LATE LAMENTED LEBANON RAILWAY – Part II: Affront and Insult. The End!?
27 May, 2009

THE LATE LAMENTED LEBANON RAILWAY – Part II: Affront and Insult. The End!?

Al-Mashriq via the Daily Star and other sources

1998

The derelict railway line between Beirut and Chtaura could be transformed into a road reserved for Lorries as a temporary solution to the mounting traffic congestion between the capital and Damascus

But the measure would come as a blow to train enthusiasts, who see it as confirmation of the government's unwillingness to rejuvenate the country's once thriving rail network, which has been out of service since the war. The technical adviser to the Minister for the Environment said the minister had suggested the change of use at a parliamentary meeting last month as a solution to traffic accidents on the Damascus highway. He repeated the proposal at a mass held in Aley for two victims of a road accident.

The Minister said that every day of delay meant more accidents and more deaths, and that transforming the former railway into a road for Lorries would cost about $70m. That should be seen as a temporary solution, until the $350m for the Arab highway to Damascus was ready

Asked why the ministry did not immediately push for the more environmentally-friendly and tourist-attractive option of re-vitalising the railways, he said that the Minister had spoken, first of all, as an MP for Aley, and second, as the minister of environment and that despite its many environmental and tourism advantages, the restoration of the railways was not, at the time, a realistic option.

Lebanon was part of the first rail network in the region but its 75 years of development was completely derailed after just two years of civil war

With most engines and coaches destroyed and tracks dismantled – they were stolen and carted off to Damascus – and despite positive noises from politicians and participants at international train-conferences held in Beirut the year before, the former deputy director-general of the Lebanese railways was pessimistic about a possible comeback for the iron horse

Apart from debates and discussions at government level, there weren't any plans to revive the railways. It is simply too expensive because everything had to be rebuilt. They were back where they were in 1895. French consultants reckoned that rebuilding the coastal line alone would cost up to $60m.

Speakers at international conferences fully recognised the importance of an efficient railway system for an Arab common market and for Lebanon's traditional role as a regional distribution centre.A spokesman for the Council for Development and Reconstruction said that it had no plans to invest in a railway system.

The Civil War had nothing whatsoever to do with it – other countries have been through wars – World Wars I and II and other wars – including Lebanon!

A country without a railway system is a country ruled, and populated by, cattle and monkeys with no fixed future aims or goals, and no fixed ways of life – a crooked country populated by crooked people whose herd-and-pack instincts, mischievous monkey-antics, and malicious jitterbug dances won’t allow for anything that moves in a straight line on a straight course…

The fact of the matter is, in a nutshell, the railway was the only straight and narrow path or track and the train was the only thing – transportation vehicle – that moved or ran straight and true on one course or track only; and could not twist or turn or swerve or dash into alleys or onto side-tracks; and that was an affront and an insult to the Lebanese Religious, Political, and Social leaders and so, to remove the affront and insult, THEY STOPPED IT!

That’s all.

NOTE:

In 2008 – last year – the Museum of the rolling stock of Al-Hidjaz Railway was opened at Khadam Station in Damascus, after major renovations for an exhibition of the locomotives. The trains run from Khadam Station on the basis of customer demand – usually German, British or Swiss groups. The northern part of the Zabadani track is no longer accessible.

THE LATE LAMENTED LEBANON RAILWAY – Part I: The Beginning

Gleaned from various sources

Lebanon had the first railway in the Arab world when a line was opened between Beirut and Damascus on 31st August 1895 – using steam locomotives.

It was opened when the territory was part of the Ottoman Empire. The line from the major port city of Beirut to Damascus in Syria was built to the unusual gauge of 1,050mm.

A second line was opened in 1906; it connected with the first line at Rayak, and ran to Aleppo, Syria. However, it was built to standard 1,435mm gauge, so trans-shipment was required at RayakDaniel: Trust the Lebanese-Apes, under the Turkish-Apes, to do an impractical and very stupid and costly thing like that! Ottoman Emp-Ayr Emp-Error! I’m sure the Lebanese-Apes had no choice but to do as they were told…as always

5 years later, in 1900, another branch was opened from the latter line to the Lebanese port of Tripoli. The junction was at Homs in Syria, and when the borders of Lebanon were defined – first, as an autonomous region of French mandated Syria and later as an independent country – the Tripoli line was isolated from the rest of the system.

During the Second World War1939-1945 – Allied troops extended the Tripoli line along the coast via Beirut to Haifa, Israel. At the conclusion of hostilities, the line was purchased by the Lebanese authorities; but deteriorating Arab-Israeli relations meant that the cross-border link with Israel was soon severed, so that the southern coastal line then terminated at NaqouraDaniel: Again! Trust the Lebanese-Arab-Apes to cut off their noses to spite their faces! Even after the Berlin Wall had been built, trains ran from East Berlin to West Berlin and vice versa, and that was after World War II, but those were Europeans; they hadn’t evolved or progressed to the level of the Arabs.

The network remained in this form until the Civil War of the 1970s, which almost completely destroyed the infrastructure. The last known train movement took place in 1977Daniel: The Syrians stole everything! They drove what they could drive and dismantled what they couldn’t – and trucked them to Damascus.

There had been various proposals to reinstate all, or part of, the Lebanese rail system, but no concrete moves were made. French Railways were hired to analyse the railway infrastructure in the country to see what steps should be taken to revive the system. A project to restore the system was several years off as it would be extremely costly.

725: MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY X – The Maronite-Moron Christians are at it again…
26 May, 2009

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY X – The Maronite-Moron Christians are at it again…

The Maronite Moron Christians are at it again, and they will end up what and where they’ve been all along: the sand in the lower part of the hour-glass! When the hour-glass is turned upside-down they think they’re on top whereas they are at the bottom, because they always flow down to the bottom – one hour top, the next hour bottom. They don’t seem to realise that sand in constant motion never settles and nothing grows in it – and so long as Aoun is part of the Maronite-Moron-Christian formula, so it shall be, and so it shall remain...

There is a treacherous treasonous traitor among the Maronite-Moron Christians. Syria used him then and Syria is using him now! Aoun and his family – and those very close to him – are getting richer and richer while his herds of cattle and packs of monkeys merely survive on salaries and hand-outs

It’s quite simple: In Religious and Political Maneuvers and Strategies, 2 x 2 = 22

AOUN is behaving and acting the same way he did in the late 1980s. Back then, too, he would not recognise or acknowledge or accept the fact that other leaders and their parties or factions, let alone forces, existed but his; and this arrogant, vain, vicious, malicious, and mad attitude was what dragged the Lebanese through all that, is dragging them through all this, and will continue to drag them through the same, if not far much worse, if they do not wake up in time, and if it is not too late already!

Some of you out there and in here, see only to the end of your noses, and no farther. That is not to say you cannot see much farther, but that is only as far as you want to see.

TheySyria and Iran and their Lebanese Fiends – have managed to do to us – the Lebanese in general and the Lebanese Christians in particular – what they managed to do to us in the late 1980s; only this time it is far much worse. They have split the Christians up into too many sections – too many herds of cattle and packs of monkeys  – and They have taken away their dignity, decency, honour, and integrity – if there had ever been any of those – and their one and only vestige – albeit it was only symbolic at best and only a posture (a presence) at worst; the only symbol of Christian Presence and Christian Say (somewhat, albeit feeble and in vain) in the country – the Maronite (Moron) Presidency and residencyBaabda Palace!

Long before all that, They had converted the Presidential PalaceBaabda Palace – to a Stable for Donkeys and reduced Bkirki to a Lunatic Park and the Christian Patriarch to a nonentity and the butt of all kinds of jokes and satire – albeit it was his fault for keeping his left nostril and his right foot in the Horse-shit of Religion, and sticking his right nostril and his left foot in the Horse-shit of Politics.

It is said: DIVIDE AND RULE. But in our case, it is: DIVIDE AND DESTROY!

If the Lebanese Army and the Lebanese Forces – and the other Christian and Moslem Armed Factions – had fused together into one entity – at the time – the whole Syrian Army and even the Israeli Army would have thought twice and counted to twenty before engaging them. We would have been free.

But NO! The Maronite Monkeys had to go at each others’ throats and at each others’ ears – I still remember the monkey-antics and jitter-bug dances they performed and the noises they made – with senseless blaring horns and silly songs and chattering like large monkeys – APES – all through the streets and on all the radios and TV stations – day and night, and at ungodly hours, too! AND! The pity and the irony are – and to add insults to injuries and salt to the wounds – they are doing it again; only this time without the songs!

Actually, from what I’ve learnt, that was WHAT Bashir Gemaeyel was trying to do – fuse the Lebanese Army and the Lebanese Forces, and all the other Christian and Moslem Armed Factions, into one entity for God and country; ready and prepared to fight against all Lebanon’s enemies – both foreign and domestic – and to defend the country and protect its people – AND WHY he was murdered.

Poor guy; he wanted to do the right thing for Lebanon and the Lebanese, so they took him out. They butchered him so brutally and so mercilessly that not a trace of him could be found! He dared to think the thought which to them was unthinkable, and to form an idea that to them was forbidden…

Memories are made of these, but the Lebanese Apes especially the Maronite Morons – have memories like sieves, through which the waters of incidents, events, actions, and speeches, pass smoothly and drop into the gutters and sewers of their blind deaf and dumb tendency to forgo the real and chase after the surreal to end up, eventually, in the ocean of banality, idiotic inanity, jackass-ignorance, extreme naivety, major moronic and optimum obtuseness – and self-imposed or self-administered AMNESIA.

Meanwhile, the truth and the facts walk up to them, look them in the eye, and even tap them on the shoulders, and pass them by; and walk slowly and sadly into the not too distant future, full of anarchy, havoc, death, destitution, destruction, and decay – but still, they will not see or hear or read or know!

Close your eyes that see only what you want them to see, and throw your minds back to the late 1980s; and open your minds’ eyes and look. Look! Oh look well, oh ye Lebanese Apes! Now close your eyes that see only what you want them to see and open your minds’ eyes, and look around you. Don’t you see the same events and incidents unfolding and notice the same actions, and hear the same speeches today – the same monkey-antics and jitter-bug dances; the same bleating and braying and howling and growling and barking and snarling and the-baring-of-fangs; and the same FARTING FROM BOTH ENDS?

NB:

There is no such thing as let’s stay or keep out of politics, or let’s not talk politics, or no politics, please. One might as well – or one had better – say let’s stay or keep out of religion, or not talk religion, or no religion, please. All issues are political and/or religious issues, and politics and religion themselves are a mass of lies, evasions, myths, hoaxes, fallacies, farces, follies, hatred, distrust, deceit, hypocrisies, greed, vanity, inanity, insanity, banality, intrigue, treachery, betrayal, and schizophrenia

724: MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY IX – Baalbek Beiteddine Byblos and Baabda Palace in 2007

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY IX – Baalbek Beiteddine Byblos and Baabda Palace in 2007

Baalbek, Beiteddine, and Byblos Festivals and Shows Cancelled in 2007, and Baabda Palace Converted to a Ghost Town in Addition to Donkey-Stable

The above is only one of Syria’s and Iran’s – and their so-called friends in Lebanon who, in actual fact, are Syria’s and Iran’s Slaves and Fiends masquerading as Proxies, Moles, Pawns, Puppets, Fools, Tools, Footstools, and Toadies, – purposes, aims, and goals in Lebanon!

I'm willing to bet a bent rusty buffalo nickel dipped in cat-shit that we couldn't say the same for Syria, since its Tourism and Trade, Etc, boomed beyond bounds!

Syria stirs up and muddies our side of the river – through her treacherous and treasonable traitors to their country and betrayers and sellers of their people – and forces the fishes to move to her side of the river – which is clean and clear! After all, no fish likes to swim in muddied water!

However and but! Syria’s and Iran’s greatest hope and most important aim and goal is to manage to install a Donkey at the Donkey-Stable, Baabda Palace, who will refuse all attempts to set the IT-STL in motion and return-to-senders all legislation aimed at it! And that is why Syria and Iran, through their main Tools or Tentacles of Terror and TurbulenceHezballah and Amal and only-God-and-Satan know who else – have placed that fool, Michu Aoun – that stupid, psychotic, schizophrenic, paranoid, senile and presidency-rabid Mad-Clown-Comedian and Champion Jackass – on the front line as the spear-head of their attack or advance! AND! He doesn’t even know it! In his neurotic and obsessed condition he really thinks and believes that they like him, and want him, and trust him and the Hermit-Baboon and Jinx, Emile Lahhoud – who ended his cursed term-and-a-half in orifice and converted Baabda Palace to a Ghost Town – Suleiman Franjieyeh, and the other Maronite-Moron Christian Assistant-Champion Jackasses – not only traitors to their country but betrayers of their own people or kind, too, to boot!

They are the Christian Shields and Blankets that Hassan Nesrallah and Hezballah, Nabih Berri and Amal, the SSNP, and all the rest need – now and temporarily – to protect them from the icy winds of attrition and retribution that is coming; and as soon as they have managed to install the sort of president they want – the bound and gagged president, or better still, the Donkey they want at Baabda Palace – Oops! Sorry. I meant the Donkey Stable – eliminate the IT-Special Tribunal for Lebanon or postpone it indefinitely, and the weather changes and gets a bit warm, they will be tossed aside and discarded like so many rusty shields and dirty old worn-out and frayed blankets!

Mark my words well for they have not yet passed away into nothing!

723: MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY VIII – Lebanon's Cultural and Art Life Stood Still
26 May, 2009

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY VIII – Lebanon’s Cultural and Art Life Stood Still

31st July 2006Gleaned from various sources…

The invitations and advertisements – pages, posters, flyers, and radio and TV air-time – had been written, designed, ordered, paid-for in advance, set, printed, and sent long before; and they had already appeared in newspapers and on websites, and broadcast on TV-Channels and radio-stations.

What was supposed to be Beirut’s first break after the previous year’s – 2005 – bomb-traumas, including the assassination of Rafiq Hariri/Basel Flayhan and their entourage, was shattered. Movie theaters opened their doors to refugees; artists signed manifestoes against the war; commercial stations were turned into 24-hour news channels; and most restaurants and bars were closed. The Metropolis, a new art-house-cum-cinema-theatre, was opened in Beirut the night before the war began…and was converted to a refuge for refugees. In 24 hours, life in Beirut – and the whole country – was suddenly turned upside down. And even if it had stopped the next day, who had the energy or the desire to produce music, organise a concert, or even attend a show?

Much of what had made Beirut appealing in previous years, at least to adventurous travellers, were the handful of ancient Phoenician, Roman, and Crusader ruins at Baalbek, Beiteddine, Sidon, and Tyre; a boisterous night life, and a naughty reputation; and beyond the ruins and the rowdy image, Lebanon’s artistic expression, after years of neglect, had begun to bloom.

The war caught everyone by surprise. Dozens of festivals, concerts, and shows were cancelled, including elaborate months-long programmes at Baalbek, Beiteddine – south of the capital, where open-air concerts were held at the 19th-century Palace in the Chouf Mountains; and in Byblos, a coastal town north of Beirut. Ticket-holders were reimbursed. Organisers of Liban Jazz, scheduled for September, tried to keep that festival alive, perhaps as a charity event.

Along the bombed-out coastal highway in the south between Beirut and Tyre, dozens of fancy resorts were deserted, their once-pristine beaches polluted by oil-slicks.

Resurrected in 1996 after the end of a 15-year-sectarian war, the Baalbek International Festival, set inside the stunning Roman ruins in the middle of the Bekaa Valley, east of Beirut, was to celebrate its 50th anniversary that year. Organisers had scheduled performances by the Ballet Theatre of St. Petersburg; and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and Opera of Nice in a joint production of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, and Lebanon’s national diva, Fairuz. The Festival was cancelled when the war broke out – on 13th July 2006 – the very day that the Festival was going to be opened.

Thousands of well-to-do Beirutis and other Lebanese had bought tickets and were prepared to make the two-hour trip to attend the open-air productions between the temples of Jupiter and Bacchus. Instead, in the town of Baalbek itself, away from the historic ruins, Israeli Air Force planes had leveled dozens of buildings in previous days. Baalbek is a stronghold of the Shiite militia-group, Hezballah; the Israeli military campaign in Lebanon began after a Hezballah raid into Israel on 12th July – they attacked and killed eight Israeli soldiers and captured two.

Even before the war with Israel broke out in July, Lebanon's three major summer music and art festivals – Baalbek, Beiteddine, and Byblos – had been struggling to keep their schedules intact. Those schedules were eclectic because they had been cobbled together from Lebanon's ruined reputation of 2005. Car bombs and assassinations do not encourage or convince musicians and/or performers to come.

In 2007, too, the show was stopped as Lebanon was wracked by conflict between the Lebanese army and a Sunni Islamist group holed up in the Palestinian Nahr Al-Bared Camp, north of the country.

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY VII – From HW to HH to HHW to HHW – Part II

They had previously agreed to disagree; and during all the supposed and so-called meetings of minds – all absolute farces, monkey-antics, and jitter-bug dances – they agreed that they still do not agree. They also agreed that they should continue to meet again and again to continue to disagree, and to further strengthen, enhance, and improve their disagreement. They all looked and behaved exactly like the fools, tools, pawns, puppets, zombies, mouth-pieces, proxies and moles they were: blind, deaf, and dumb ass-holesespecially Syria’s and Iran’s Fiends – and no wonder!

Where they were, they probably could not call their masters and hearken to their voices.

It was true that during all the dialogues or talks none of them made or received any calls and that none of them received any folded pieces of paper, either, BUT! They were not required or necessary since each of them had already made and received calls – especially Syria’s and Iran’s Fiends – and that their instructions had already been written down for them and included or enclosed in their folders or briefcases.

Those National Dialogue Donkeys or Hiwar Hamir Watani were really something! Where did they come from, and what did they take us for; blind, deaf, and dumb naïve obtuse-ostrich morons with bird flu in the brain and swine flu in the brawn?

Someone really ought to have told them that all those jitter-bug dances and monkey-antics they'd done, they did, they've done, and they're going to do; and that all the poor and pathetic plays and shows they put on, and have put on and acted didn't, doesn’t, and won’t wash or do, or fool anyone except the fools among the Lebanese. And not all of them are…

They may fool some of the people some of the time; they may fool some of the people most of the time; they may fool some of the people all of the time; they may fool most of the people some of the time; they may fool most of the people most of the time; they may fool most of the people all of the time; they may fool all of the people some of the time; they may even fool all of the people most of the time; BUT! They cannot fool all of the people all of the time!

AND! Nothing, but nothing, escapes Daniel in the Lion's Den! They were, and are, all Ping-Pong Balls with Ping-Pong Brains

They will never ever agree to or on anything! It's every Ape for itself and God and the Devil take the hind-most; for the simple reason that, from the onset, they could not agree to or on anything. In other words, and like my late beloved Mama would say…

Mama: Son; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: Lebanon without freedom, peace, security, or stability; down-trodden and debt-ridden, too, to boot!

Me: But why, Mama?

Mama: Son! Did I raise you to be a fool? Use your brain, (IF) you've got one!

Me:  Let's see now…it's because of the Black Cauldron, isn't it, Mama?

Mama: Son! You'd better explain it. As you know, there are a lot of adamant, asinine, ass-hole, naïve, and obtuse-ostrich morons out there.

Me: Elementary, Mama. It's the cotton-picking and mother-fucking, and the silliest and most ludicrous and ridiculous Constitution ever evolved by the Lebanese Apes, or any other Apes for that matter, in the history of Human-Apes!

Mama: Son! You'd better elaborate. Like I said, there are…

Me: How obtuse can they be? It's only a Maronite can be the Presiding-Prick President; only a Sunni can be the Prime Moron-Minister; only a Shiite can be the Sneaker-Speaker; only this can be that, and only that can be this; and if they still do not understand, then to both Horse-shits with them!

Mama: That's my boy!

Me: So tell me, Mama; is it possible to rectify or adjust the Constitution now – somehow and/or somewhat?

Mama: No way, José! The cancer of fear, suspicion, mistrust, anger, anxiety, desperation and frustration – to mention only a few – has already festered and spread far beyond remedy or control; and I’m afraid those that had taken advantage of the situation – Syria and Iran – and laid hold of certain elements among the LebaneseSyria’s and Iran’s so-called Fiends, or the Opposition – will never let go just like that.”

Me: But what if the Opposition, Syria’s and Iran’s Fiends, have a change of mind and heart?

Mama: In two words: Im-possible – and don’t tell me; I know it’s only one word! For one thing, they’re too many and they’re all Lebanese; so they couldn’t agree to or on anything. For another, having a change of mind and heart would mean betrayal and desertion on their part toward their masters and owners – Syria and Iran – and which would mean, or result in, very dire consequences for all concerned and involved.

Me: JEEZ! What an Enigma and a Dilemma – combined and compounded!

Lebanese leaders and politicians – you ought to know who they are, and if you don't, then you know nothing at all – cannot and will not agree on, or to, anything; for the very simple reason that more than half of them are Syria's and Iran's Proxies and Moles – or Slaves; but which they call Fiends no more mention of dogs and you all know why by heart by now – and half of the other less than half of them believe only in every Ape for itself and to both Horse-shits with the others; and the last less than half of them are cattle that only follow the herds, and monkeys that follow the packs.

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY VI – From HW to HH to HHW to HHW – Part I

At first there was a National Dialogue or Hiwar Watani, which I named Hiwar Hisan, and later improved it to Hiwar Hisan Watani; but then I realised that Hisan in Arabic meant Horse in English, and which was in the singular form, and the plural form wouldn't do. I also remembered what my late beloved Mama (who is I, myself, and me) once told me about horses and people.

She said:  Son; at first, God created the Horse and the Dog, the noblest and most decent and faithful of all His creatures, then he went on to create the rest; but things began to go awry when He got  tired, hungry, and sleepy, and had run out of (good) ideas. That was when the DevilSatan – stepped in and offered to help. God refused His help, but you all know Satan; He never gives up easily, and somewhere along the line, things became confused; and that was when God, or Satan – or both – created the Monkey, and later topped it all off by creating the Ape. They were actually quite pleased with themselves at the time. Little did they know or realise that, that Ape would evolve and develop into the most selfish, greedy, vain, vicious, vindictive, malicious, cruel, mischievous, and destructive creature of them all.

Me: What do you think of horse-racing, Mama? Personally, I think it's a cruel method of exploiting horses and a very sorry means of making money.

Mama: That's putting it mildly, son. Actually, all the decency and nobility in horse-racing is to be found ONLY AMONG THE HORSES!

And that was the reason why I named it Hiwar Hamir Watani since, although the donkey is noble in his own special way, he is not as noble as the horse. However, that is not to say that the donkey is not clever or wise. Those of you who have read George Orwell's book “Animal Farm” know what I mean, because it was the donkey in the story who said – I have put it in the form of a speech; it’s more apt:

Fellow beasts; they say that God, or Satan – or both of them – created me and gave me a tail to drive away the flies but, if it were left to me, I would rather do without the flies and without the tail!

See what I mean? Actually, the Donkey is more clever and wiser than Lebanon's Religious Political, and Social leaders – most of whom are Syria's and Iran's Proxies, Moles, Fiends – for the very simple reason that, if a donkey walked a path or trail once (only), and encountered risks and/or danger and/or injuries, but managed to escape, it would never ever walk that path or trail again in its life; and, believe me, a donkey lives long!

None of you have ever seen a dead donkey!

720: MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY V – They knew we knew they knew we knew they knew all about it…and Aoun and Geagea
24 May, 2009

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY V – They knew we knew they knew we knew they knew all about it…and Aoun and Geagea

They knew; and they knew we knew; and they knew we knew they knew all about that boiling cauldron of the Devil's Brew!

In other words, the Opposition knew the math that brought the after-math!  Nasrallah – he orchestrated the whole thing, with the full knowledge, acceptance, and approval of Lahhoud, Aoun, Berri, Franjieyeh, and Michul Murr (at the time)

Michael Aoun knew about it! He must have known about it! Otherwise, what sort of alliance or agreement, Memorandum of Understanding, had he and his party with Hassan Nesrallah and Hezballah; a surface-only alliance? Impossible! Even if it were a surface-only alliance; he knew, or must have known because, although it is true that surfers only surf on the surface of the water, they spend much less than a quarter of the time, about 15-20%, on the surface. They spend the rest of the time either in or under the water.

I don't see how it could be otherwise. Not all of us are fools, you know!

I quote my late beloved Mama who is I, myself, and me: “Son; it were better had Michael Aoun remained in France! However, who is to say that the French hadn’t gotten fed up with him and his monkey-antics and jitter-bug dances, and couldn’t wait to see him go? They thought they’d seen the last of him! How wrong they were!”

It seems we had, at the time, and still have today, not only one man's, but a whole alliance's, vicious, vindictive, malicious and mischievous folly and madness, greed, egoism, vanity, and recklessness; a whole alliance's treachery to their country and betrayal of their people; who literally sold their souls to Iran and Syria for hard cash (almost all for the leaders and a little for the rest) and the keys to paradise (only for the dead); and thrown in the souls of all the Lebanese people into the bargain for good measure; a whole alliance's selfish, stubborn, and greedy desire and determination to obey and please their masters, Syria and Iran, regardless of the costs and consequences in lives, limbs……the rest you know by heart by now!

AOUN AND GEAGEA

Both Michael Aoun and Samir Geagea were graduates of two separate Mental-Hospital-and-Asylum-Academies with the same curriculum or agenda. Michu was a craven coward, so he deserted one (his wife), three (his daughters), and all (his men) and lived in the best hotels in France; and returned to strut about and bleat, bray, bark, and fart; Samu was a fool, so he spent 11 years in prison – underground – but he also lived and returned to bleat, bray, bark and fart – Samu does not strut about.

These two did it to the Maronite-Moron Christians back then, and they are doing it again

719: MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY IV – Looking back down memory lane with melancholy in my mind and fury in my heart…July 2006 again
24 May, 2009

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY IV – Looking back down memory lane with melancholy in my mind and fury in my heart…July 2006 again

Before I proceed; none of you out there or in here should be, or feel, offended or insulted by my honest and frank postings. I never write to offend or insult; I write what I feel and see as the truth and the facts – so help me! AND! I always say what I mean and mean what I say! AND AGAIN! All you need to do is ask yourself – deep in your mind and in your heart and your soul – whether it is true or not. That's all.

12th JULY 2006 – Lebanon DOWN! Syria UP!

That was the Puerile Futile and almost Fatal Fallacy Fiasco Folly and Madness which they dared, and still dare, to call an Intisar Aazim! Was that an Intisar Aaazim or a Great or Divine Victory, dear readers and fellow-Apes? I ASK YOU! It was an Inhiyar Aaazim! It was anything and everything BUT an Intisar Aaazim!

Looking and thinking back today, it almost reminds me of the not so recent Hamas Horse-shit/Horse-fart in Gaza, but not quite.

Shou hal Intisar Aazim! If that was a great victory then I wonder what a great defeat would have been like – I shudder to think or imagine! That was no victory at all!

That was an unadulterated abhorrent abomination and a highly destructive debacle perpetrated by Iran and Syria via their mindless and reckless Proxies, Moles, Fiends, and their blind, mute, senseless, and even more mindless and reckless followers against a poor helpless defenceless country and its people – Lebanon and the Lebanese – to put it mildly!

Before that folly and madness, there were X number of Lebanese in Israel's prisons and four times at least Lebanese in Syria's prisons – which nobody ever mentioned or mentions, or cared or cares a hoot about – not then, and not now. Then, during and after that PF-FFFFM, there were millions of Lebanese in prisons in Lebanon – either imprisoned in other people's homes or in schools and other make-shift shelters in other cities, towns, and villages; or scattered here and there and about all over the country – except Hassan Nasrallah’s and Hezballah’s direct victimsthe Lebanese of the south – who were fed, cared for, and provided with necessities and essentials by the local authorities and people – not to mention the dead, the wounded, and the scarred and maimed for life!

Let us spare a thought or two for the hundreds of thousands who were scattered to the four winds, never to return, and who paid through their noses for the honour and the privilege of escaping with their lives, with only the clothes on their skins.

Hotels, beaches, Beach-Hotels, holiday resorts, restaurants/pubs, night-clubs, theatres, and festivals – including The Casino Du Liban – not to mention most shops and other businesses in certain areas; either completely or semi-closed down; vacation colonies cancelled, and children of highly alert, discerning, and impression-prone ages; scared out of their little wits and scarred and traumatized for life; who will grow up to be only-God-knows what with only-God-knows what ideas! It was a very Cold Wet Gloomy Lonely Summer of 2006 Indeed!

No communications or transportation – roads and bridges destroyed; which meant that ordinary people – the average, decent, sensible and law-abiding and tax-and-utilities-paying citizens got caught in the maelstrom and could not open their shops or other establishments, and their employees could not come or go to work; and as a result, everyone lost something precious, essential and necessary except those that were paid to do what they did and later paid for what they had done – no real or proper bomb shelters; not even a properly armed and equipped army that had known about and/or had planned and prepared for just such a war or confrontation!

An ill-thought of, ill-advised, ill-planned, ill-prepared for, and ill-carried out operation that served no good purpose and was only aimed at, and meant to, literally throw dust into the eyes of Lebanon and the Lebanese, and actually destroy Lebanon; and throw The UN, the IC, the Arab League, and the rest of the world off the tracks – the IT-STL investigation into the death of Rafiq Harriri and all the other atrocities committed during Syria’s presence and influence and total domination of Lebanon, and The Iran Nuclear Stalemate!

What were we, and what are we; blind, deaf, and dumb naïve obtuse-ostrich morons with bird flu in the brain and swine flu in the brawn?

And all for what; for one man's whims and quirks; one man's folly and madness; one man's greed, egoism, vanity, megalomania and recklessness; one man's treachery to his country and betrayal of his people, especially the Shiites; who had literally sold his soul to Syria and Iran for hard cash (for him) and keys to paradise (for Hezballah, Amal, and their allies); and threw in the lives, limbs, properties and souls of all the Lebanese people and population into the bargain for good measure; one man's selfish and stubborn desire and determination to obey and please his masters, Syria and Iran, regardless of the costs in incomes, properties, lives, limbs, disrupted lives, destroyed families, displacement, dispersion, desperation, frustration, confusion, pain, sorrow, anxiety, anger...I could go on and on…ad infinitum!

Too much! AND! The greatest irony is; nobody wants, or is prepared, to accept, or admit to, the truth!

How on EARTH, or in HEAVEN or HELL, could one Madman do all that to so many? No single section, or sect, or faction, or party, or whatever, of Lebanon's Political, Religious, Economical, Social, and/or Military scene, let alone a single person (a madman and his militia and their so-called alliances) had the right to drag the country to the edge and plunge her into that cauldron of the Devil’s Brew – and which they later had the gall and the nerve to call an Intisar Aazim! Hassan Nasrallah actually admitted that if he had known the Israelis were going to respond or retaliate as they did, he wouldn’t have…Read: 681

All of Lebanon’s Religious and Political leaders call it an Intisar Aazim but, to me, the 12th July 2006 Puerile Futile and almost Fatal Fallacy Fiasco Folly and Madness was an Inhiyar Aazim; and I am sure that there are not a few Lebanese out there and in here who would call it something even much worse – depending on where they were, where they stood, what they got, and what they gained from that Donkey-shit! I'm sorry, but Horse-shit is reserved for more important matters, NOT THAT!

718: MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY III – Looking back down memory lane with melancholy in my mind and fury in my heart…Late 2006 to End of 2007
23 May, 2009

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY III – Looking back down memory lane with melancholy in my mind and fury in my heart…Late 2006 to End of 2007

Late 2006

We all thought it was all over, BUT! Just before Christmas, 2006 – so to speak – six ministers deserted their posts; and the very president, Emile Lahhoud, and the very speaker of the house, Nabih Berri, deserted their posts, too, and then crossed the red-line of non-partisan and non-involvement and lead the other six deserters, and go to join and lead the Opposition – but still collect their enormous and preposterous salaries regularly – and Hezballah, Amal, and the Aounis and their alliancescollaboratorsset up that Eye-sore, Nose-sore, Nerve-sore, and Income-sore Tent-City, right smack in the heart of the capital, Beirut.

2007

As if that alone, carried forward to 2007, wasn’t enough; some armed elements – Palestinianswe wonder where they got their weapons and rockets since we all know that Hezballah and Amal and their alliances all get theirs from Iran through Syria; and we all know that no weapons of any sort could be smuggled into Lebanon without the knowledge and approval of, and permission from Hezballah/Amal – had to go and kill soldiers of the Lebanese Army, thus sparking another war at Nahr Al-Bared Camp which lasted too long in terms of Tourism and Trade – not to mention stability and peace of mind!

AND! Just before Christmas, 2007 – so to speak again – the Presiding Prick, the Hermit-Baboon and Jinx, Emile Le-Hood, ended his term-and-a-half in office – his reign or era of iniquities, inanities, banalities, betrayal, terror, treachery, and treason – and deserted his team-matesthe Opposition – after he had messed up the country and screwed its people; and left that Baabda Palace Donkey-Stable; and took the Maronite-Moron Presidency with him – exactly as I predicted – and left the country in an even much worse mess, and its people in the worst possible enigma and dilemma!

With no president, and – according to the Opposition or the 8th March Camp – with an illegal and unconstitutional government, how the FUCK on earth, or in Heaven or Hell, were they going to be able to elect our next Presiding Prick President?

I ASK YOU!

I mentioned HEAVEN and HELL in a manner of speaking only since, to me, both HEAVEN and HELL begin with a Capital “H” and so does HORSE-SHIT!

This is what happens when people leave the ground, which is always there, and chase clouds, which always disappear. The ground is the country, the land, or the nation; and the clouds are individuals who seek their own interests only; and only help their miserable, misguided, misled, misinformed, and mostly illiterate and thereby ignorant (m)asses – their followers – enough to keep them in line, and only when it serves their purposes: to achieve their aims; and who disappear – they either die, or move to their home-towns or another country with their blood-money; and leave the fools in the lurch; wondering what happened – where did it all come from, and where did it all go! AND! The pity and the irony are: They never learn! They simply select another perishable cloud, leave the ground again, and chase it!

I ASK YOU AGAIN!

They may fool some of you, or most of you, or almost all of you, or all of you, out there, but not all of us are adamant asinine asses, banal baboons, blind bats, craven cowards, deaf and dumb ducks, fumbling fools, gullible gulls, idiotic imbeciles, jackasses, lame lemmings, moron monkeys, naive nincompoops, or obtuse ostriches with bird flu in the brain!

I smell the stench of death, destruction, decadence, and decay in the air

MEMORIES AND MELANCHOLY II – Looking back down memory lane with melancholy in my mind and fury in my heart…2006

The 12th July 2006 Fallacy Fiasco Folly and Madness – what it did to Lebanon, and what it did for Syria and Iran…

It had taken X number of years for Lebanon to attain some form of trust, credibility, stability, and feasibility for investment – albeit weak, shaky and wobbly – by Lebanese citizens living abroad, and foreign governments and companies, and their peoples from all four points or corners of the compass: North, South, East, and West

And what about the tens of thousands of tourists! I ASK YOU!

According to signs, statistics, and figures that had been computed prior to, the summer of 2006 was going to be the utmost best in the history of Lebanon and the Lebanese, in terms of everything to do with everyone everywhere in the country; from the tanks and troops of the Israeli Army, the Lebanese Army, and UNIFIL in the south, to the tanks and troops of the Syrian Army in the north – amassed and ready to move in at the smallest sign or on the slightest excuse.

Those that ventured and came, or invested, and lost everything; including their minds, their hopes, and their trust – if not their lives – and were forced to escape or vamos with only their shirts on their backs – so to speak; those that planned to come and/or invest, and that will not dare to even dream of it for another X number of years to come, at least; those that were studying the possibilities of investing and probably came, or sent their marketing officers to survey and study the lay-outs, including the dangers and risks involved; and those that thought of investing and were waiting to see if it would be worth their while, their efforts, their money, their time, and their lives, to invest in Lebanon, The Bitter-Litter Land: the battle-ground for Syria's and Iran's puerile, futile, farcical and fatal war against Israel and The West, the litter-ground for Syria’s and Iran’s – and only-God-knows who else’s – expendable elements and perishable pawns, and the shit-house for the rest of the world!

Did Hassan Nesrallah and Hezballah, and Nabih Berri and Amal, and Emile Lahhoud, Michael Aoun, Suleiman Franjieyeh, and all the rest, think well about and over what that Fallacy Fiasco Folly and Madness – that boiling cauldron of the-devil's brew – would do to Lebanon and the Lebanese? I don't think so! They only thought about what it would do for Syria and Iran first, and them, second! That's all.

Syria's hotels, holiday resorts, restaurants, night-clubs, pubs, and theatres; including shops, boutiques, snack-bars and make-shift containers, Etc, were full to the brims and Damascus Airport barely managed to handle the countless in-coming and out-going flights.

The International Investigation into, and the Tribunal for, Rafiq Al Harriri's assassination and all the other atrocities committed by Syria's Moukhabarat and its Lebanese jackals and hyenas – especially in the last 15 years of Syria's invasion by invitation, presence, influence, and total domination of Lebanon – was put in a folder and placed on the shelf to gather dust and rat-shit; and Iran's Nuclear Stalemate was suspended or postponed; indefinitely.

Syria's tourist industry and trade, and other businesses, boomed beyond boundaries and Iran had the excuse and the means, the place, and the brainless useless dispensable elements and perishable pawns – cannon and bullet fodder – it needed to discard – no; not discard; actually put to good use, without any danger or risk to it and its people – its out-dated rockets and missiles, and to test its newest and latest weapons, at the time. What more could they want, or ask for?

I smell the stench of death, destruction, decadence, and decay in the air
