WOMEN’S RIGHTS GROUP RILED OVER MINISTRY’S REBUFF

RIYADH – The founder of the ANSAR AL-MARAH Women’s Rights Society has condemned the Ministry of Social Affairs for denying them the initial approval to establish the society.
Women’s Rights Activists in the KSA were eagerly anticipating the establishment of the AAM; the first civil society group dedicated to women’s rights in the KSA.
A Women’s Rights Activist and writer told Arab News recently that Saudi women see such groups as Ansar Al-Marah as a platform that would deliver their problems to decision makers and would speed up efforts to resolve issues pertaining to them.
She added that in the last few years much economic, educational and political reforms have been accomplished but not when it comes to Women’s Rights. Women still face discrimination in almost all important aspects of their lives, including and especially education, employment, civil affairs and the justice system. Women make up 70 percent of those enrolled in universities but only make up 5 percent of the work force.

The Ministry of Social Affairs claims that it has not given its approval for the establishment of the society because that is not part of the ministry’s functions.
The founder of the group said that not allowing the group to function was unfair and that if authorizing such groups were not one of the ministry’s functions then it should have informed them at the time and refused the application of the group – a properly constituted group that would provide very necessary and highly important humanitarian assistance to women who need specialized help; which officialdom tends to deny instead of embracing and supporting them.
He added that the society does not enjoy support in some official circles because the organization plans to have a workplace comprised of both genders, which is illegal under Saudi law unless clearly segregated areas are provided.
The proposed society would be comprised of men and women working together and dismisses such segregation as a clear attempt to isolate women in the work-world. Smaller businesses, for example, might not be able to afford investing in almost redundant facilities such as extra office space in order to maintain such segregation, so they simply choose not to hire women. And in companies that have separate areas for women, they tend to be smaller and set to the sidelines of the main operations, which also contributes to isolating women in the work-places of the work-world.

RIYADH – Umm Koloud, a 41-year-old Saudi mother of six girls whose husband died seven months ago, lives in a squalid apartment in Athoqbah, Eastern Province. She gets SR 2,100 in social insurance every month, over half of which goes to rent. She and her daughters live under constant threat of eviction. They simply cannot afford the exorbitant rent every month.
Umm Koloud is only one of Saudi Arabia’s estimated 182,403 widows, most of whom scrape by with little or no support from blood relatives or in-laws.
For Saudi women – and all women in Arab and Arab-speaking countries, for that matter – the death of a husband often means more than losing a loved one; it is the beginning of a phase of more responsibilities, challenges and economic uncertainties. Some widows are left with relatives reluctant to take them in or offer even modest financial support.
And because of the Saudi guardianship laws, most of these widows are caught between the rock of an indifferent extended family and the hard place of a system that prohibits them from managing many of their own affairs.
Male guardians or Mahrams – a husband, father, brother, or son – are required to sign on behalf of women. Women who have no one to be their Mahram have no alternative but to become wards of the state; under the guardianship and at the mercy of local Islamic Courts.
Saedah F., 36, got married at 19 to a man much older than her. She never graduated from high school. She’s the mother of numerous children. When her husband passed away, the women who married him before her got most of the inheritance set aside for his wives.
A Sociologist said that the Saudi custom of parents forcing young girls to marry older men is mostly to blame for many relatively young women becoming widows. Although forced marriage is forbidden in Islam, many girls find it difficult not to submit to the marriage wills and selections made by their parents.
Marriage is viewed as a way to get out from under the yoke or tyranny of parents, too; forcing girls to make hasty decisions that might be the most contributing, if not the main, factor to Saudi Arabia’s growing divorce rate.
Like divorcees, widows are faced with the “damaged-goods syndrome” or stigma.
Fatimah Hussan, whose husband is currently serving 17 years in prison and still has 15 years to go, has two children and cannot find a place to put them while she’s at work. She survives in part through charity from neighbours and friends. Her social insurance disbursements barely cover what she pays in rent annually.
The Ministry of Social Affairs provides welfare to Saudi widows who are landless and with at least two children. However, as soon as a son turns 18, the mother becomes dependent upon him and is no longer eligible for ministry disbursement based on being a single-woman head of a household.
According to a women’s rights activist and member of the non-governmental National Society of Human Rights (NSHR); depending on financial help is not a cure for the predicaments of these widows, but a lame treatment of the symptoms.
She stated that surviving on charity exacerbates the feeling of helplessness and hopelessness in widows! What would give them hope was to implement programmes to help widows recuperate their emotional losses and regain their sense of being simply ‘persons, and not slaves, servants, or properties’ was to encourage them to be active members of society. Vocational and other educational courses would be a positive step.

DAMASCUS – Syria has yet to invite regional power-house, Saudi-Arabia, and the controversial country, Lebanon, to an Arab summit in Damascus next month, an official said on Thursday, as Arab League Chief, Amr Mussa, said some member states would only attend if Lebanon's political crisis were resolved.
This makes the average decent and sensible citizen of the world wonder HOW Syria could possibly invite all the Arab League States yet leave out Saudi-Arabia! And HOW the Arab League of Notions could possibly discuss Lebanon – let alone (try to) solve its critical crisis and dire situation – without Lebanon! One would think that Lebanon ought to be the first to be invited, and the first to show. One would also wonder WHY the Sneaky Slimy Scurvy Surly Scumbag Shit-head Schmucks – all under “S” for Syrians – are doing this and WHAT they hope to bargain for!
Syria hasn’t yet invited Lebanon (via its bloated hog) because it has no president to receive the invitation, and if Syria hands the invitation to Foud Saniora then Syria automatically acknowledges and accepts the present government as legally legal and constitutionally constitutional which would then leave Syria’s Proxies Moles Pawns Puppets and Fiends, not in the lurch, but in the gutter!
How simple and obvious and transparent and BY GOD!

Syria and its regional ally Iran are the main backers of the Lebanese opposition which has been at odds with the Western and Saudi-backed Beirut government for months over the election of a new president.
Amr Mussa said he would be visiting Damascus soon for talks on the summit, but he sided with the Beirut government against the opposition by insisting that it had executive powers amid the presidential vacuum.
The Lebanese constitution stipulates that in the absence of a president, the prime minister assumes his powers, but the Syrian-backed opposition insists that Prime Minister, Fuad Siniora's, cabinet lost all legitimacy when six of their ministers quit in November, 2006, but have since then collected their un-earned illogical salaries regularly, every month, from Fuad Saniora’s illegitimately legitimate government.
Finally – kindly allow and forgive me, dear readers and fellow-Apes, to repeat the following: Trust the Arab League of Notions to come up with the Notion to hold a Summit Meeting right smack in Damascus, Syria! That’s like going to the Lair of the Foxes to discuss the plight of the Chickens! BY GOD!

Something smells to high HORSE-SHIT and it’s not rotten eggs!
Several Arab nations conspired with the Israeli Mossad organization to assassinate Hizbullah's senior military commander, Imad Mugniyah, in Damascus, Syrian sources claim. The London-based al-Quds al-Arabi daily reported on Wednesday that Syria was making significant progress in their investigation into Mugniyah's assassination which at first was supposed to be a joint-birds-not-of-the-same-feather affair.
The report said Damascus would publish the results of its inquiry following the Arab League summit due in late March which makes the average decent sensible citizen of the world wonder: why wait for so long; why not reveal it all now, and put the accused Arab Nations to shame? Syria is expert on such delay-tactics, ruses, monkey-antics, jitter-bug dances, gambits, and rig-around-the-roses rigmaroles.
Mugniyah was killed in a car bombing in an upper-class residential neighbourhood in Damascus on Tuesday, 12th Feb. The British daily Times had earlier reported that Mossad agents had killed Mugnyiah.

MOSCOW: Russia is ready to support new UN sanctions against Iran if Teheran does not change tack on its nuclear programme; Russia's envoy to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, told journalists on Wednesday.
Asked if Russia would support sanctions – via a video conference from New York – Churkin said: “Yes. If Iran does not change its position in the next few days, Russia, as a member of the group of six UN Security Council permanent members plus Germany, will support the UN resolution.”
Western powers have stepped up efforts to impose a third set of UN Security Council sanctions over Iran's nuclear programme in response to Teheran's refusal to suspend uranium enrichment, a potential weapons-making process.
Moscow has relatively close ties with Iran, and Western powers worry that Iran may be trying to develop a nuclear weapons programme under cover of its stated goal of developing civilian nuclear power.
Iran denies having any such weapons programme
Russia has been supplying nuclear fuel for a nuclear power station that Moscow is building at Bushehr in the Islamic republic, and is committed to also removing spent fuel.
Some time ago, there was a report in the foreign and domestic papers with a picture showing Putin and Ahmedinejad and one other Ape; after an agreement on nuclear co-operation between Russia and Iran. Trust the Russians to first sell nuclear stuff to Iran for money, then turn around and join in preventing Iran from using the stuff as it wants. To the average, decent, and sensible person, it simply means that ‘Teheran was NOT PARTICULARLY TRUTHFUL about the KEY-AND-LOCK ASPECTS as opposed to the KEY ASPECTS only – of what use is THE KEY without THE LOCK since THE KEY is light and can be carried around, and lost, too, and although THE LOCK is FIXED or INSTALLED there, IT CAN BE BROKEN OR REMOVED AND REPLACED?
The average decent and sensible person knows fully well that: GENERALITIES ARE MEANINGLESS! IT IS THE PARTICULAR IN LIFE THAT IS MEANINGFUL!
The report also stated the there had been Relative Co-operation and Relatively Realistic Indications to that effect. What do ‘Relative Co-operation’ and ‘Relatively Realistic’ mean? ‘Relative’ to ‘Whom’ and/or "What"
Relative to Mohammed Baradei’s and his Team’s pockets or bank accounts; or relative to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s budget; or perhaps Mahmoud should have paid them more? Is that it?
What does ‘The IAEA’s insight into Iran’s present atomic work – in other words; Nuclear Programme – is shrinking’ mean? This clause was inserted into the report to cover their asses in advance because it simply means that The IAEA’s access to Iran’s Nuclear Programme was, and is, and will always be stringently LIMITED to only what Mahmoud wants them to access!

We all know what ‘The Islamic Republic – or Iran – continues to defy UNSC and the IC demands that IT freeze ITS Uranium Enrichment Programme’ means; what are we; Etc, and so forth and so on?
Finally, what does ‘Iran’s history of Black Market Procurements – or Black Market Deals – and Past Development of Uranium Enrichment Technology’ mean; Technological Enrichment of Uranium for what purposes exactly?
Furthermore, let me remind all of you out there that Syria had a nuclear plant or facility going – begun in 2003 or (much) earlier – and which was (almost) fully completed and probably operational, AND! NO ONE KNEW ABOUT IT, INCLUDING THE STUPID, USELESS, HOPELESS BUT COSTLY UN AND THE IC AND, ESPECIALLY, THE BLIND, DEAF, GULLIBLE, IDIOTIC, MORONIC, AND OBTUSE IAEA – I do not believe for one moment that they did not know about it! They knew, but they were paid and told to look the other way with both eyes – until the Israeli Air-force bombed it not so long ago; and which, by the way, dear readers and fellow-Apes, is being rebuilt by Syria again!
AND! Would you believe that neither The UN, nor The IC, nor The UNSC, nor The IAEA even bothered to send a team to check out and investigate the remains?
They waited until Syria had cleared up and cleaned up the area and removed any and all traces of anything – I wouldn’t be surprised if THEY actually advised her to do it – and now they think and believe that only God and Syria and Israel know the truth; they couldn’t be more wrong, because not all of us are Etc, and so forth and so on. And now, instead of checking on what exactly Syria is doing or building, they wait, and look on with one eye, and look the other way with the other eye. AND! If Israel manages to bomb the same project again, they’ll start FARTING FROM BOTH ENDS!
Actually, even if Iran had been, or is, working toward nuclear weapons, THEY – Mohammed Baradei and The IAEA, The UN, The IC, The IAEA, The UNSC, The EU, and The Arab League of Notions – WOULD BE THE LAST TO KNOW! No. Scratch that. The IAEA is the last to know; or the first to know but the last to show; if the price of not-know and not-show is right!
AS FOR THE IAEA; THEY WOULD BE – IN FACT, THEY ARE THE FIRST TO KNOW, BUT – THE LAST TO ADMIT AND/OR TELL! BY GOD!
INTENTIONAL AND UNINTENTIONAL / MURDER AND MANSLAUGHTER
Unintentional Mistakes!? Whoever heard of Intentional Mistakes!? This was after NBN claimed it was an unintentional GOOF-OFF by Sawsan. All mistakes are unintentional! Intentional mistakes are tantamount or equivalent to crimes or violations! Period!
Quite some time ago, and immediately after Antoine Ghanem’s assassination, NBN anchor-person, Sawsan, said: “What took them so long; another one down, and the rest to go; soon; Ya Rabb!”
What NBN anchor-person, Sawsan, said on NBN was no mistake. It was intentional. The only problem arose when the sound technicians and camera-men made an unintentional mistake, or was it? Who knows?
Someone – an Adamant Asinine Ass-hole – wrote a lot of gibberish that ended up by saying or proving exactly what I said. To support his ring-around-the-roses run-around rigmarole HORSE-SHIT, he mentioned the difference between MURDER and MANSLAUGHTER.
My dear readers and fellow-Apes; MURDER and MANSLAUGHTER are just words that are used and bandied by lawyers in courtrooms to save the accused – the killers and their clients – from execution; or to bargain or barter for a life-sentence, instead of death by hanging or the electric chair, and to earn a goodly fee. That’s all.
Try explaining MANSLAUGHTER and MURDER to THE VICTIM(S) – like all the Martyrs who were killed before; and Rafiq and Basel and their entourage; Samir Kassir, George Hawi, Gebran Tueni, Pierre Gemaeyel; and all those that died in bomb attacks; and all our beloved soldiers who were killed recently – or their spouses, or their children, or their families, relatives, and friends – or enemies, for that matter.
To the dead and their families, relatives, and friends, these two words mean absolutely the same thing.
The AAA, by the way, is a newspaperman who works for one of the Monkey-Media.

Iran: the wife of assassinated militant leader, Imad Mughniyeh, claims that Syria was behind the killing of her husband, reported Alborz, a pro-Iranian government source. Her husband, Imad Mughniyeh was killed in a bombing in an upper-class neighbourhood in Damascus, Syria, on Tuesday, 12th February. Syria and Iran, and their Lebanese Tools and Fools – Hezballah and Amal – have accused and blamed Israel of/for his assassination, since Israel is Syria’s and Iran’s – and their Lebanese Proxies’ Moles’ Puppets’ Pawns’ and Fiends’ – scapegoat or GEHA who is always accused and/or blamed for their doings. They deal in, and dish out, death and destruction; then they accuse or blame Israel.
It is a wonder THEY did not blame Israel for the earthquake that destroyed homes and killed or displaced and dispersed Lebanese in South Lebanon on Israel!
Actually, and in fact; even whenever Israel attacked Lebanon and killed Lebanese and destroyed homes, bridges, and other structures, it was always because of them – because they attacked Israel first, and killed Israelis and provoked Israel beyond forbearance! This is a well-known fact. The Lebanese and especially the Opposition members and the whole world know it. There is nothing moot about it.
Mughniyeh was the intelligence chief of Hezbollah's secretive military wing – the Islamic Resistance.
“The Syrian traitors assisted in my husband's murder. The Syrian refusal to let or allow Iranian investigators do join in the investigation is unshakable proof of Damascus's complicity and compliance, connivance and participation, in my husband's murder; that is, if they did not commit the murder themselves.” said the widow.
The Saudi daily 'Okaz' has also entertained the idea of Syria being behind the murder of Mughniyeh. It hypothesized a power struggle within Lebanese Hezbollah between those who want a continued alliance with Iran, and those who want to steer away from Iran and have the backing and support of the Syrian Security Forces or Intelligence Agencies.
Mughniyeh's widow, of Iranian origin, wanted to leave Syria after the assassination of her husband, and wanted to go to Lebanon or Iran, but the Iranian Embassy reportedly decided to take her to Teheran, beyond the reach of the Lebanese and Syrian media.
Mughniyeh, also called “The Shiite Bin-Ladin” was considered the mastermind of several hijackings, suicide bombings, and other terrorist acts and was on the FBI's top ten most wanted list with a 5 million dollar reward for his capture.
He was wanted by Israel and the US due to his alleged role in the bombings of the Israeli embassy and the Jewish community centre in Buenos Aires in 1992 and 1994, as well as a wave of abductions of westerners in Lebanon in the 1980s.
Mughniyeh was widely believed to be responsible for a wave of bombings, assassinations and kidnappings in Lebanon during the 1980s.

Arab League Secretary General, Amr Moussa the Mongrel-Mouse, on Monday concluded a two-day rescue mission in Beirut with double failure: No breakthrough has been declared and no date has been set for further talks.
However, Moussa was quick to stress: “we've agreed on meeting again” in a lame and transparent attempt to avoid stating that the Arab Initiative had collapsed. He could have added: “Actually, it was to be expected. However, there is Hope-Nope, since we have agreed to meet again to continue to disagree.”
A reporter: “What do you mean by that, Mr. Mouse? OOPS! Sorry. Mr. Moussa?”
Amr Moussa, the Amiable Mongrel-Mouse: “What are you, stupid? What else did you expect, since my instructions – and/or my decision – were to visit Nabih Beriberi Berri first, before Mediating the Mooing and Mewing between the Main Morons?”
He made the remarks to reporters at Parliament following a second round of talks in as many days between March 14 majority representatives, ex-President Amin Gemayel and Mustaqbal Movement leader, Saad Hariri, and Un-Free Un-Patriotic and Mis-Movement Maronite Moron Christian Bleeder, Michael Aoun in his crappy and copious capacity as the misrepresentative of the Hezballah-led Opposition.
AOUN! To state the truth unequivocally: The French actually screwed the Lebanese twice. The first time was when they saved this creature and kept it alive in a gold cage for 15 years; and the second time was when they sent it back to us!
To the French, he was a thorn in their side and a chronic canker in their society, but they finally managed to get rid of him by sending him back to Lebanon. BEIRUT: Arab League Chief, Amr Moussa, the Amiable Mouse, held Mooing and Mewing with rival political leaders in Lebanon on Sunday, in a bid to break a deadlock that has left the country without a president for three months. Moussa hosted a meeting between two leading members of the Western-backed ruling coalition: parliamentary majority leader, Saad Haririand ex-President Amin Gemaeyel; and Christian opposition Bleeder, Michael Aoun; as The Daily Star went to press the meeting had not been adjourned.
Well-informed sources told The Daily Star that the meeting was expected to be a decisive one, whereby either some kind of solution would be agreed on or the Arab initiative would be dropped all together.
The three-point Arab initiative calls for the election of a new President, who would represent Lebanon as its Head of State at the Arab Summit in Damascus, Syria, the formation of a national unity government, and the drafting and implementation of new electoral laws. The Chief-Thief and Liar of the Arab League arrived in Beirut on Sunday afternoon to resume Mooing and Mewing between Lebanon's feuding factions amid signs that a solution to the three-month presidential deadlock silly and sour situation was still far off.
Who gives a damn or cares a hoot – or gives a Fuck in Heaven or Hell or Horse-shit – whether the next new President is Michael Suleiman or TOZ WA MARHHABA, so long as he is fit for it and patriotic?
Amr Moussa, the Amiable Mongrel-Mouse, went straight from the airport to meet with Parliament Speaker, Nabih Beriberi Berri, who actually leads the opposition.

Syria is keen on having a high volume of high-level representation at the March 29-30 Summit Meeting in Damascus, and Syria’s Foreign Minister, Walid Al-Moallem, will travel to Gulf States other than Saudi Arabia to deliver invitations this week.
Syria is keen on having a high volume of high-level representation at the Arab Summit – as many as impossible – only to throw dust into the eyes of the rest of the world and throw them off the tracks! That' all.
