Bomb Attack on Lebanese Army Kills 14

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: A bomb blast, targetting the Lebanese army at a bus-stop killed 9 soldiers and 5 civilians – including a child, a shoe-shine boy, who was shining shoes at the time; poor boy – in the northern city of Tripoli today. At least 40 people were also wounded in the attack that ripped through a busy shopping street in the heart of the port city during the morning rush hour. The bomb, packed with 20 kilogrammes (44 pounds) of explosives, was in a bag, and the force of the blast blew the remains of some of the dead on to the roofs of nearby buildings.

In Tripoli, desperate families gathered at four hospitals to check on the fate of their loved ones but they were blocked by security from entering. One hospital official said identification was delayed because most of the bodies had been mutilated beyond recognition. The Minister for Information said an investigation was begun and there were many interpretations – political interpretations.

The explosion came hours before Lebanon’s Presiding Prick, Michael Suleiman, was due to visit Damascus for a landmark summit with Bashar Al-ASS-Ad amid moves to establish diplomatic relations between Syria, the Master, and Lebanon, the Slave, for the first time; and the Slicker-Sneaker-Speaker, Nabih Beriberi Berri, said that the timing of the bomb reflects efforts to prevent the improvement of Lebanese-Syrian relations. Also, to add more shit to shit, the Secret-Ayry of the Arab League, Amr Mousa the Amiable Mouse, said it was aimed at complicating the security and political situation in Lebanon and hampering the launch of the new government.

Daniel: Such Horse-shit! That and several other similar incidents were warnings from Syria to Lebanon! We might establish diplomatic relations between us – Lebanon and Syria – but they would be solely on our terms and under our conditions……or else!

In June and July, tens of people were killed and several others wounded in battles between supporters and opponents in the neighbourhoods of Bab al-Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen – a mile from Masarif Street.

Daniel: What do you mean supporters of whom and opponents of whom? How should I, or would I, know? They themselves – both sides – don’t know! The fighting is still going on! You tell me how they manage to differentiate between THEM and US, since they are all Lebanese, second; and Moslems, first. BY GOD!

TRIPOLI: A bomb, placed in a bag at a bus stop where soldiers usually gather to wait for buses to take them home, killed at least 15 people including 9 soldiers today, and wounded 45 people in the deadliest attack on the Lebanese Army since its battle with al Qaeda-inspired Fatah-al-Islam militants last year. Security sources had earlier put the death toll at 18.

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: A bomb blast killed at least 18 people, including 9 soldiers, in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli yesterday. The bomb, which also wounded at least 45 people, was the deadliest attack on the Lebanese Army since its battle with Al Qaeda-inspired Fatah-Al-Islam militants at the in the north last year.

Whether 14 or 15 or 18 dead, and 40 or 45 wounded; what’s the difference? After all, they’re only Lebanese soldiers and civilians – and a poor shoe-shine boy! I ASK YOU! AND BY GOD AGAIN, TOO!
