I intentionally did not wish you a Merry Christmas, because Christmas is another story for another Posting at another time; and I do not wish you a Happy New Year, since I believe that ONLY FOOLS ARE, OR CAN BE, HAPPY ALL YEAR ROUND. I do, however, wish all of you A GOOD YEAR! With a little Good in one's life, one can be a little happy, which is all one can ask for in one's short sweet dream one calls a life-time. BY GOD AND SATAN!

Dear readers and fellow-Apes; kindly excuse or ignore any spelling errors in the first part of the heading or title. I’m not good in, and I never liked, this Anglo-Arab written language. I not only consider it an insult to Man-the-Ape’s intelligence, but also as a means of lowering the capacity of already low-capacity brains! BY GOD!

BAQUBA: A 15-year-old girl, wearing a belt packed with explosives, was detained and interrogated, and an Iraqi woman and her daughters were detained in a recent raid in Baquba. They were taken to one of the police stations for questioning. She ridiculed the police who questioned her on her ties to suicide bombers. She said she had to be both mother and father to her children, so why would she blow herself up; just because someone asked her to? She even laughed at some points of the interrogation. She was detained along with her two daughters.

The three of them were suspected of intending to blow themselves up in suicide attacks.

Fully covered in the black hijab and niqab – I call them the black aluminium foils or the Phantom Costumes – she had a broad face and big eyes. She sat on a thin mattress smoking the cigarette an Iraqi police officer had offered her. Daniel: Now, since not all of us are Etc and so forth and so on, let us pause here for a moment to wonder how they could see her face and eyes! … Hey! I said only a moment! Now, read on……

Her interrogators confronted her with a letter the Iraqi police had discovered during the raid on her home. The letter was addressed to Umm Omar from the local Al-Qaeida leader.

Good news for you my sister, Umm Omar, the letter said. Your sister, Fatima, became a martyr after an operation in Mafraq district. God enabled her to carry out the blessed operation. Know that she did not hesitate to confront the infidels and tyranny. We pray to God that you follow her in God's course. We inform you, Umm Omar, that this letter is very confidential.

Umm Omar shrugged it off and said she could not read, so why would he send it to her.

In the Middle East, Umm means mother, followed by the eldest son's name, in her case Omar. She says the Umm Omar reference could be just about any woman in Iraq. She also denied having a sister named Fatima.

Her profile fitted that of other women who had carried out suicide attacks.

Female suicide bombers had various motives; some had links to al-Qaeida while others had sons, husbands, and fathers killed in the fighting, and sought revenge; but most of them were victims of their stupidity, illiteracy, ignorance, and naivety. It was apparent that Al-Qaeida mostly sought out women and girls whose families were very poor and struggling to survive, made promises of goodly sums of cash to their families after their so-called heroic act, but failed to make good on the promises on the pretext that they would be amply and more aptly rewarded in paradise. Others were young widows or women who were deeply religious and were swayed by the promise of heavenly rewards

Daniel: Deeply religious! Heavenly rewards! Such Horse-shit! Imagine women or girls whose parents did what was necessary, and did without what was not to provide them with the education and enlightenment they needed, committing such acts!

Umm Omar's husband had been jailed at Camp Bucca on terrorism charges for three years. Her two sons and her son-in-law are dead. Iraqi police say the son-in-law was a member of the insurgency killed in clashes with them. Her family had been completely destroyed. Daniel: Those that live by the sword shall die by the sword! Her family did what they did to deserve what they got! There are thousands of poor families in Iraq who will not do what they did because they value life and property.

Umm Omar comes from a neighbourhood in Baquba that was once the center of the Islamic State of Iraq, an umbrella group headed by al Qaeida in Iraq.

The city of Baquba is the capital of the volatile province of Diyala and is at the center of the insurgency's suicide-bombing operations. In the first seven months of this year, there were more than two dozen female suicide bombers. About half of those attacks were carried in Diyala.

The U.S. military, working with Iraqi units, has been actively raiding suspected cells of female suicide bombers. Umm Omar was detained as part of a joint U.S. and Iraqi crackdown throughout the whole province.

The psychological pressures of the situation that existed in Diyala – the systematic killing, especially in some parts of Baquba where the presence of government forces was weak – allowed the insurgents to use religion to exploit women bombers who pose a serious and difficult problem for the security forces.

Men cannot search women. That is a red line. So the criminals take advantage of this weakness in Iraqi society.

As part of the efforts here, the US and Iraqi forces have begun recruiting women, and training them to search other females, but the programme is relatively new and quite simply not enough.

Umm Omar remained in custody, but her daughters were released because of a lack of evidence. Despite her denials, police suspected the mom and daughters still intended to carry out attacks. Umm Omar said she did not believe her daughters would ever be suicide bombers, but 48 hours after the police had released them, a female suicide bomber attacked a police station in Baquba. One policeman was killed and 17 other people were wounded.

Police are following up on all their leads, and they went to check on Umm Omar's daughters. One of their relatives said they were at their uncle's house; their uncle said they had gone to Baghdad.

The police are more suspicious than ever and are still searching for Umm Omar's daughters.
