Dear Readers and Fellow-Apes; 2008 was a Murky and Hapless Year! Let us hope that 2009 does not turn out to be even  More Murky and Hapless!

I intentionally did not wish you a Merry Christmas, because Christmas is another story for another Posting at another time; and I do not wish you a Happy New Year, since I believe that ONLY FOOLS ARE, OR CAN BE, HAPPY ALL YEAR ROUND. I do, however, wish all of you A GOOD YEAR! With a little Good in one's life, one can be a little happy, which is all one can ask for in one's short sweet dream one calls a life-time. BY GOD AND SATAN!

A Jack of many trades and master of all; I am honest to the core and I hate lies, deceits, pretensions, hypocrisy, treachery, betrayal, and stoic compliance; and I despise – and actually pity – Human-Apes who follow-the-herd-or-pack

I expose and reveal the lies, deceits, pretensions, hypocrisy, treachery, betrayal, and blind, deaf, and stoic compliance, and Human-Apes who follow-the-herd-or-pack; I tell or write the truth; and I say what I mean and mean what I say

I fear nothing; least of all, death

If I must fear anything at all in life, then let me fear what I think and  know of myself; because, in the end, one’s knowledge and opinion of oneself is what counts most. All the world may think and believe one is such and such, but one knows one is such and such. Also, I like to look in the mirror and like what I see and know about me.

I invite comments, remarks, criticisms, and even insults – so long as they are straight to the point, in order for me to correct or adjust myself accordingly. What I do not welcome and won’t accept or tolerate is HORSE-SHIT!

Dear readers and felow-Apes; with every page, every report or article, every paragraph, every sentence, every word, and every letter; I thank you for taking the trouble and the time to read My Not-So-Humble Comments.

KENYA: Numbers of Street-Urchins (street-children) rising beyond pardon

ELDORET, 8th August 2008 (IRIN): Street-Urchins sleep in alleyways between shops in Eldoret, a town in Kenya's Rift Valley Province, in constant fear of being beaten by police and other security agents. In January, Eldoret was one of the epicentres of the post-election violence that forced tens of thousands to flee their homes. Across Kenya, more than an estimated 1,500 people were killed and several families were split up. As a result, Save the Children estimates the number of children living in streets in Eldoret has doubled since January 2008. Daniel: Save the Children is what you think; Sustain Us is what you do.

With the imminent closure of many of the camps for Internally-Displaced Persons, even more children are expected to become homeless. Currently, there are over 150 unaccompanied children registered in Eldoret showground camp alone, some as young as six or seven years old; most of whom risk being thrown out into the streets.

Although many of the children living in the streets were orphaned during the violence, a considerable number still have one or both parents. Most of the families displaced by the violence fled with their shirts on their backs – so to speak. Daniel:  which reminds us all of what happened in Lebanon during the July 2006 Fiasco, Folly, and Madness

Don't Save the Children but Sustain Us said that extreme poverty was forcing some parents to neglect and even abandon children and return to their original farmland – and struggled to make ends meet. Daniel: HORSE-SHIT! Give them a day or two, or a week or two, and they forget they ever had any children at all – so, and then, they start fornicating and having new ones, who will eventually join their half-brothers and sisters.

Solvent abuse is ubiquitous among the Street-Urchins. The glassy sheen of wide open and unblinking eyes betrays their dependence on glue. As they spoke to reporters, they drew heavily on a small bottle concealed beneath their grimy sweaters. They sniff glue for two reasons: to feel high and to forget. Although Street-Urchins supposedly receive free healthcare at the local district hospital, these vulnerable children do not receive adequate attention. The small ones catch pneumonia and die.

KENYA: More education equals less Child-Porn, Teen-Pregnancy, and HIV

NAIROBI, 25th July 2008 (Plus-News): Keeping Kenyan girls in schools and ensuring they have access to HIV and sex education has a dramatic effect on lowering future levels of HIV. However, the strong influence of fundamentalist Christian funding to Kenya had also played a part in preventing sex education from being taught in schools. Most parents in slums had inadequate control because work kept them away from their children, sometimes for days. As a result, children learnt about sex from the wrong sources, such as the numerous video-halls that allowed children to view pornographic films. Girls also slept in the same room with their parents until they are mature, and witness their parents having sex, so they learn about it early, and they get a man when they are still young in order to get out of it and/or to experience it. Daniel: Monkey see, Monkey do.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: Children languishing in prisons

BUNIA, 14th July 2008 (IRIN): Dozens of children are languishing in adult prisons in the DRC's northeastern Ituri district, despite legal prohibition. In the central prison in Bunia, men-inmates are kept separately while the women and children-inmates are kept together. It was discovered that some women slept with male-children when one of the female-inmates became pregnant.

NIGERIA: Trafficking of girls and girl-sexual- abuse worsening

KANO, 7th July 2008 (IRIN): According to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons (NAPTIP), trafficking of girls from villages to cities in Nigeria has increased and the authorities are powerless to stop the trade. The business of recruiting teenage girls as domestic help in rich and middle-class homes is booming despite the state’s efforts to put a stop to it.

Girls aged 12-17 are regularly trafficked from villages and brought to the city to work as maids for an average monthly wage of 1,500 naira (US$13) which they usually send home to their parents who are caring for several of their siblings – and having more.

Apart from being denied access to education, these girls are, in many cases, raped and beaten by their employers, so the NAPTIP has a dormitory to rehabilitate them. Daniel: Rehabilitation is not the same as anticipation and prevention – and punishment.

Trafficking in, and sexual abuse of, women and girls are driven, not by poverty alone, but by the extreme income and gender inequality existing in Nigeria, and (almost) all Moslem countries. Poverty forces parents to steer their teenage daughters into work as domestic helps, believing the menial jobs would secure better living conditions for their daughters – Daniel: knowing fully well that women and girls have no rights at all in mostly Moslem Systems or Societies, since they are considered as slaves, properties, or objects of pleasure and amusement; and/or mentally retarded. I ASK YOU!

COTE D'IVOIRE: Child abductions and sacrifices to rise in election run-up

ABIDJAN, 25th June 2008 (IRIN): According to the Ivorian police, Child Abductions and Sacrifices, which is already a serious problem in Cote d'Ivoire, may worsen in the run up to the presidential elections which is scheduled to take place later this year (30th Nov. 2008) as political hopefuls, using traditional myths of human-sacrifice to improve their chances, will fuel an already significant market for stolen or abducted children.

Organ traffickers, who slice out hearts, kidneys, lungs, and other body parts for sale to medical facilities and Sooth-Sayers, are the main culprits. Children, especially girls, are also forced into the sex trade, for use by illegal adoption rings, and especially boys for work on plantations; and the chances of getting the children back once they have disappeared is slim – a recovery rate of one in 20.
