United Arab Emirates: Police in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) arrested a German doctor of Arab descent for performing hymen-reconstruction surgeries and abortions. According to the police, the 61-year-old gynaecologist had performed abortions and surgeries to restore torn, broken,  or damaged hymens for 1,000 dollars per operation.
