DON’T BE AFRAID OF PEACE WITH SYRIA; BE AFRAID OF WHETHER SYRIA WILL RESPECT AND ABIDE BY IT, AND WHETHER IRAN WILL SIT OR STAND BY AND DO NOTHING. Is this a joint affair or move? I wonder!

TEL AVIV: Peace with Syria is once again possible and it even seems to be met with a less-frosty reception on the Israeli side. The time is ripe for negotiations with Syria, especially since US President George W. Bush's reign is drawing to a close, and among his potential successors, whether Democrat or Republican, there is a willingness to negotiate with Bashar Assad instead of boycotting him.
John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama all see a peace treaty between Israel and Syria as a recipe for relieving tensions in the region, removing Syria from the axis of evil, and re-shuffling the Middle-Eastern Deck of Cards. It could also break present alliances and create new interests that would be beneficial for all concerned except Iran and her Tentacles of Terror and Turbulence: Hezballah and Amal in Lebanon, and Hamas in Palestine.
The cost of peace with Syria has been known for years, and there is no reason to be alarmed. The security advantages of peace for Israel are greater than the strategic value of the Golan Heights - if all the parties concerned respect the agreement and abide by it, which I strongly doubt. Could this be the move Syria has been working on all along or is it just a crack in the wall Syria is trying to widen in order to escape through - from the International Tribunal and the handing-over of Lebanon to her all over again? And what about her alliance with Iran; is Iran going to take this move lying down with a pinch of salt or is it a joint move by Syria and Iran to gain the Golan Heights, and from there launch their Tools and Tentacles of Terror and Turbulence - Hezballah, Amal, and Hamas - at Israel in order to destroy her?
Personally, I wouldn’t give a bent buffalo nickel dipped in shit for Israel or Syria or Iran - or all three combined - or any other country, BUT! I would give a brand new silver buffalo nickel to know what Syria hopes or intends to get out of this whole can of plastic worms. Something smells to high HORSE-SHIT and it isn’t rotten eggs!
